InJune2016,theVillageBoardapprovedthepurchaseofanEMCUnity300storagearrayfromCDW-G.Wereceivedthearrayandduringtheimplementationprocessfoundthatthesupportfromthevendorwasnotuptoourexpectations.Sincethisarraywillholdcriticalproductiondata,wehavedecidedtoreturnthestoragearraybeforegoingintoproductionwithitandpurchaseadifferentstoragearrayfromanothermanufacturer.

TheTegileT3100hybridstoragearraywilloffermorestoragecapacitywhichwillhandleourcurrentneedswithampleroomforgrowth.Threeyearsofsupportserviceswereincludedinthequoteaswell.

PolicyConsiderations

AccordingtoSection2-43(6)oftheVillageCodeofOrdinances,theVillageAdministratorshallmakearecommendationtothePresidentandBoardofTrusteesonpurchasesoverthe$5,000statutorylimit.TheBoardhastherighttoacceptorrejectanyorallproposals.

FinancialConsiderations

TheoriginalEMCUnity300storagearraywaspurchasedforacostof$23,024.67.Thisoriginalpurchasewillbefullyrefunded.Perpolicy,threequotesfortheTegilearraywereprocured.ThelowestquotewasfromCDW-Gintheamountof$24,417.40.
