Methuen Construction was the General Contractor for this large water treatment plant at Baldwin Pond in Wayland, MA.. Methuen Construction coordinated the efforts of all major suppliers and subcontractors including sitework, utilities, concrete, structural steel, controls, process piping, and mechanical, commissioning.
Methuen Construction successfully completed the 1.5 MGD water treatment facility on-time and well under budget, without impacting the environmentally protected Baldwin Pond ecosystem or Wayland Waterworks operations.
Work included construction of a new masonry building above concrete holding tanks, replacement of existing well pumps, ozone generation, compressed air, membrane filtration, chemical feed, and SCADA systems.
The scope of work also included upgrades to the existing waterworks building, a backwash filter structure, new septic system and various MEP elements.
