Congregational Care Ministry, Tammy BurkhalterEXPLORE BECOMING A STEPHEN MINISTER
“Stephen Ministry showed me the face of Christ. God brought me exactly what I needed through the care of my Stephen Minister and that demonstrated to me how God cares for each and every one of us.”
—Frank This quote comes from a real person who was going through a life crisis and needed someone to walk alongside him. If you would like to explore becoming a Stephen minister and find out why care receivers feel this way, contact Tammy Burkhalter, Congregational Care Director ([email protected]), or Lynn Lewis ([email protected]). Our next training class will be October 8, 2019–March 2020.

STAFF NEWSWelcome to Baxton Abney, our newest Sexton. Originally from Florida, he lived in California for 10 years before returning to Greenville a year ago. Baxton and his wife, Mia, have three children, Christian (9), Hannah (6), and Caleb (10 months). Prompted by a desire to raise the children in a more Christian region, they moved to Greenville and joined Brushy Creek Baptist Church. After working in secular corporations, Baxton prayed for a job in church, found First Pres, and is now enjoying being around people of like mind. Please give Baxton a warm welcome to First Pres!

BE A GOOD NEIGHBOR! The Upstate’s daily blood supply needs continue throughout the summer, yet donations wane. Because of this need and our
desire to show love to our community and neighbors, First Pres will partner with Buncombe Street United Methodist Church
for a Blood Drive July 14.Sydney Clark (daughter of FPC
staff member Autumn Clark) and BSUMC member Natalie
Robelot Gibson (sister of FPC member Thom Robelot) are receiving blood products
during cancer treatment. Both will benefit greatly when we specify that our donations
are given in their honor.
The time is right to be good neighbors!
