Your tickets

This year we will be introducing e-tickets to promote a contactless theatre experience. Tickets will be sent to you electronically from February 2021.

Additional tickets

Due to possible theatre capacity limitations additional tickets cannot be purchased with your season package. If Government directives permit, additional tickets will be released via a subscriber presale eight weeks prior to each opening night.

Ticket exchanges

If available, ticket exchanges will commence eight weeks prior to each opening night and are subject to availability. Please note, theatre capacity may be restricted due to COVID-19 Government requirements regarding social distancing.

Tickets for our annual series of behind the scenes events and talks are not currently available. More details will be released closer to each production season.

If you book a season package on behalf of a partner or friend, you will be recognised as the head subscriber. If you plan to attend the ballet with the same guest regularly, you may like to nominate them as a co-subscriber so they can access exclusive subscriber benefits such as ticket exchanges. If you do not nominate a co-subscriber, your guests will not be able to make any changes without your written consent. You can nominate a co-subscriber for each seat within your package. The head subscriber remains the primary contact for all communications regarding your season package, including any announcements on social distancing or seating.

PREMIUM RESERVE Centrally positioned seats that give the best views

A RESERVE Excellent seats that offer clear and unrestricted views

B RESERVE Very good seats that are more distant from the stage and may have some restrictions on side of stage views

C RESERVE These seats are positioned further from the stage and may have restricted views of some peripheral elements of the ballet

D RESERVE These seats are located in the rear or sides of the theatre and have a restricted view

Getting There Arts Centre Melbourne is located at 100 St Kilda Road, just minutes away from the CBD. It’s a short walk across the bridge from Flinders Street train station, and close to the trams and buses of St Kilda Road. Information to help you plan your trip is available on Arts Centre Melbourne’s website. Parking is available at The Australian Ballet Centre Car Park, conveniently located behind Arts Centre Melbourne on Kavanagh Street.

Cloaking The Smorgon Family Plaza cloak room will remain closed until social distancing measures permit. Please refrain from bringing large bags, long umbrellas or briefcases to the theatre until the cloaking service resumes.

Access The Australian Ballet and Arts Centre Melbourne endeavour to accommodate the individual needs of patrons wherever possible. The best way to check theatre accessibility is by visiting: artscentremelbourne.com.au/visit/accessibility Please call Arts Centre Melbourne on 1300 182 183.

Access for customers using a Wheelchair Facilities are available at Arts Centre Melbourne for customers using a wheelchair. Please inform The Australian Ballet Customer Experience Team or Arts Centre Melbourne Box Office of your requirements when booking tickets. Call the Welcome Desk at Arts Centre Melbourne on 03 9281 8298 at least 24 hours prior to the performance should you wish to book a wheelchair.

Assisted Listening Devices An FM hearing system is available in all seating areas of the theatre for audience members with a hearing impairment. This service is free, upon presentation of identification. Please alert the ushering staff to your requirements on entering the venue. Patrons will be issued with a receiver and either a headset or a neck loop enabling use of a hearing aid via the ‘T’ switch.

Changing Places Facility A fully accessible Changing Places public toilet with adult change table and hoist is available on Level 3 of Hamer Hall for people with severe or profound disability. Access is available via the lift during Arts Centre Melbourne operating hours, 9am–11pm, 7 days a week and is secured with a Master Locksmiths Access Key (MLAK).

Seating To optimise the sound produced by the orchestra and to safeguard the health and safety of our musicians, a larger orchestra pit

will be required for all productions. To accommodate this change, rows A & B in the stalls will be removed from the State Theatre. Please see: australianballet.com.au/2021seating for more information.

Assistance Animals Assistance animals are permitted in the theatre.

Latecomers For the comfort and convenience of all patrons, latecomers will only be admitted into the theatre at a suitable break in the program, which may not be until interval.

Drinks in the Front Row For the safety of musicians and their instruments in the orchestra pit, drinks are not permitted in the front row of the Stalls in the State Theatre.

Photography and Audio/Video Recording It is strictly prohibited to take photos or audio/video recordings during any performance by The Australian Ballet. Photography is permitted during curtain call.

Mobile Phones Mobile phones must be turned off prior to a performance.

COVID-19 Ticketing Policy

Information correct at time of print (November 2020).

Seating changes may be required due to Australian government directives regarding social distancing. Principal package holders will be reallocated seating first, followed by Create Your Own package holders. Refer to australianballet.com.au/COVID-policy for additional information.

E-tickets will be issued for the 2021 season. Season Package e-tickets will be distributed from February.

Additional tickets will not be available to purchase during the subscription period. Subscribers will be offered an exclusive pre-sale period if single tickets become available closer to the opening of each production.

Admittance to all venues is subject to the Venue’s COVID-safe plan at time of entry.

Ticketing Terms and Conditions

Tickets purchased through The Australian Ballet are subject to the terms and conditions available in full via australianballet.com.au /ticket-info The Australian Ballet adopts the Live Performance Australia (LPA) Code of Practice for the Ticketing of Live Entertainment in Australia, available at liveperformance.com.au Attendees must also abide by the terms and conditions of the venue in which the performance is held.

Ticket Price Types and Concessions

A variety of price types are available for Season Packages. Proof of concession valid at time of purchase must be provided when booking your Season Package. Tickets will not be dispatched until proof of concession has been received email to [email protected]

2021 TICKETING INFORMATION

You may be asked to provide proof of concession to venue staff when attending performances.

Price Types

Adult: available to individuals 31 years or over.

Senior: available to individuals with an Australian government issued Seniors Card.

Pensioner: available to individuals with an Australian government issued Pension Card.

Under 30: available to individuals 30 years or under at time of purchase with acceptable proof of age ID. E.g. Drivers license, proof of age card, passport or birth certificate.

Child (<18): available to individuals 18 years or under at the time of purchase.

National Companion Card Scheme

The Australian Ballet supports the National Companion Card Scheme. For more information visit companioncard.gov.au To book a Season Package using a Companion Card, please indicate this during check out online or call our Customer Experience Team on 1300 369 741 and select the Accessible Booking line.

Instalments

You may choose to spread the cost of your Season Package across four equal payments. The first instalment of 25% will be charged on receipt of booking; second instalment of 25% will be charged on 15 January 2021; third instalment of 25% will be charged on 15 February 2021; fourth and final instalment of 25% will be charged on 15 March 2021. Each instalment will be 25% of the order total including the $12 processing fee where applicable. If we cannot charge your card on the payment date, you will be charged a late payment fee of $33. Full payment

must be completed before your first performance to avoid ticket cancellation.

Ticket Upgrades

If a ticket sold at a concession rate is to be used by an attendee not eligible for the same concession, the difference between the concession and full rate must be paid by the ticketholder. This upgrade may be carried out in advance by contacting our Customer Experience Team on 1300 369 741 or at the venue box office from one hour prior to your performance.

Children at the ballet

All attendees, irrespective of age, must hold a valid ticket to gain admission to mainstage performances. We encourage you to be considerate of surrounding audience members if bringing babies or children to performances, and to consider the appropriateness of performance content. We suggest reviewing our guide to children at the ballet and to see our babes in arms policy for all other events australianballet.com.au/ children-at-the-theatre

Performance and Cast Details

Run times and nightly casting for each mainstage performance are published on our website approximately one week before opening night. Casting is subject to change without notice. A nightly cast sheet will be available on our website prior to each performance. Printed cast sheets will no longer be available for collection at the venue.

Ticket Exchanges

Ticket exchanges may be available for mainstage productions performed at Arts Centre Melbourne from eight weeks prior to the first performance of each production. Exchanges can only be made for performances within the same production, must be

finalised by the required times and are always subject to availability. For the 2021 season exchanges can be made over the phone or online. Fees may apply. The required times for exchanges to be finalised; 3pm the business day before for performances on weekends, public holidays and Wednesday matinees; and by 10am the day of for all other performances.

Discounted Parking VouchersSubscribers can pre-purchase discounted parking vouchers for The Australian Ballet Carpark with their Season Package to be used year-round. Vouchers purchased in 2020 may be used in 2021. The Australian Ballet Carpark is located at 2 Kavanagh Street, Southbank, directly behind Arts Centre Melbourne and is open seven days from 6am to 1am, except Sundays (9am to 11pm). Lost parking vouchers are strictly not able to be replaced. Vouchers purchased for the 2021 Season will expire on 31 December 2021 and cannot be extended or refunded if not used.
