Q2 – Carl, learn to fly

■ Devin Moore is a convict from Alabama who sparked a large controversy over the video game X. He initially evaded the police and, according to the Associated Press, after his recapture he said, "Life is a video game. Everybody's got to die sometime."

■ The controversy involving his relation to X was revealed during an episode of 60 Minutes on March 6, 2005. In the episode a student demonstrated X to them, showing them the adult nature of the game

Q3 Rock Your Body

■ YouTube founder Jawed Karim (yes, The Me at the Zoo guy), attributes the founding of YouTube to two very different incidents in 2004.

■ In an interview with USA Today, Karim mentioned how difficult it was to find online footage of the two events and hence came up with the idea of a video sharing website.

■ The first event was witnessed on television by some 140million people. But for the millions others who hadn’t seen it, YouTube was a great platform to satisfy their FOMO and see unadulterated and complete footage online.

■ The second event was not covered well by mainstream television outlets and the Western Hemisphere sought more information related to it.

■ The 2 events? ( 10 each)

Q4 X and Y

■ The inspiration for all of X's Ys may be his onetime lover Muriel Wright, who according to The Times has a claim to be the fons et origo of the species: pliant and undemanding, beautiful but innocent, outdoorsy, physically tough, implicitly vulnerable and uncomplaining, and then tragically dead, before or soon after marriage.

■ Wright was 26 and "exceptionally beautiful" when she and X met in 1935. A talented rider, skier, and polo player, Wright was independently wealthy and a model. She was devoted to X, despite his repeated unfaithfulness. She died in an air raid in 1944, devastating X, who called Wright "too good to be true".

■ Although the role of the first Y is credited to the more famous Ursula Andress, Linda Christian, a Mexican actress, is the true claimant and appeared as 1954 adaptation of X’s work.

Q6

■ Many fans are aware that X and Y were close friends who had a great deal in common. Y helped return X to the Christianity of his youth, whereas X encouraged Y to expand his fictional writing; both taught at Oxford and were members of the same literary group (Inklings), both were interested in literature, myth, and language, and both wrote fictional books which propagated basic Christian themes and principles.

■ One day, Y decided to show X an early draft of what would become the cornerstone of Z, the star-crossed love story of Beren and Lúthien. X encouraged him to continue mapping out his universe.

Q14

■ “Weird Al” Yankovich, the famous parody artist released his song, The Saga Begins on June 29 1999, almost a full month before the release of the Movie, Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace.

■ The song, through its lyrics, makes a bunch of predictions which happen to be true and are later corroborated in the movie. Some of the facts were so accurate that there were suspicions of the movie being leaked. However, Yankovich has simply guessed and gone through the various literature and fan theories online to accurately make predictions about the movie plot. This perhaps showed how predictable and boring the movie was.

■ All this information is nice, but useless for you to answer the question.

■ Just give me the 1971 song which was parodied by Weird Al. It is perhaps the most interpreted song ever and no one truly knows what it means.

■ X was a 13th century Indian Queen. The earliest source to mention her is X , an epic poem written by Malik Muhammad Jayasi in 1540 CE.

■ In 1303, the Delhi Sultanate ruler Alauddin Khalji captured the Chittor Fort from the Guhila king Ratnasimha, after an eight month long siege. Although the legend of X is the best known story about the siege, it has little historical basis.

■ Reports of love scenes between Alauddin Khalji and X in a recent adaptation of the legend led to protests and vandalism by a Rajput organization who attacked Y and accused him of distorting history.

■ X and Y?

Q20■ As later stated by one of the costumers, the baby Xs who interacted with humans were

not Xs but Ys who were made up in black-face and given peaked fur hats to more closely resemble Xs. This is because the use of actual baby Xs would have put the filmmakers in serious danger from the adult Xs. It was also noted that, for a number of reasons, the crew kept its distance from the Xs when not filming them. One day, when preparing to shoot a scene, the actors and crew were hanging around and paying little attention to a stuntman who casually climbed into his X suit. The suit was extremely realistic, even featuring internal forearm extenders. In the upcoming scene the X was to charge, which required the stunt man to run on all fours using the ungainly arm extenders. Being dressed and ready, the stuntman then performed a practice charge. No one had paid any notice to the fellow until that exact moment. When he did the practice charge, he scared the cast and crew, causing a number of them to flee, as they thought that an actual X was going after them. It took a few minutes for everyone to calm down and recognize the humor of the situation.
