‘Hinds told the website that progress has been “slow,” given its members, Ben Weinman from Dillinger Escape Plan, former Mars Volta drummer Thomas Pridgen and former Janes Addiction bassist Eric Avery all live in different parts of the world.“We tried to get together and do an album, but there’s been no time. We want to record crazy stuff and Ben (Weinman) is working on that, but it’s been hard to get together,”Hinds said. And as for the choice of name?“Because they look sick,” the guitarist said.’

Solution: Write AS a member of the band being interviewed as well as the interviewer.

So was is hard to do the album in that short amount of time. “It was quite hard! We rushed the songs to get them done and none of us really enjoyed the music. It seemed like a boring offi ce job which is what we didn’t want. We didn’t think the songs sounded like hits so we recorded them in the same place as the other ones for some consistency. The album sounded more mellow than we had intended but at least all of the songs matched.

We rushed the songs to get them done and none of us really enjoyed the music because seemed like the music was a boring offi ce job which is what we wanted to escape from. Our unhappiness with the tracks came across so we decided to re-record the tracks in the same place as the rest of them. The album has a more folk/acoustic sound now which is the aim we were going for.”

Wow, three songs in less than twelve hours, that doesn’t seem easy. “It was mind-bogglingly diffi cult! We rushed the songs to get them done and I think that was one of the times where being in a band felt like a job which we wanted to escape, rather than something we love doing. After listening to the tracks a few times, we heard that negativity come across so we decided to re-record them in Ricky’s shed along with the rest of the songs. The album has a more folk/acoustic sound now which is the aim we were going for.”

That slightly negative feeling came across in those three tracks so we decided to re-record them in Ricky’s shed along with the rest of the songs. The album has a more consistent folk-infl uenced acoustic sound now which is the aim we were going for.”
