He was born in Scorniceşti at 26 January of 1918 in Olt region of Romania

He joined the illegal Communist Party of Romania at 1932

He arrested the first time when he was 15 years old

Arrested in 1933, when he was 15 years old, for "active distribution of communist and anti-fascist propagana"

He met with Elena Petrescu after he go out from the jail at 1939

When he arrested again in 1943,he share same cell with Gheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej

In 1947 after the communist attack in Romania, he was the ministry of agriculture

In 1952 Dej brought him onto the central commitee

In 1954,he become a full member of Politburo and,he was the second person in hierarchy

LEADERSHİP OF ROMANİA After the Dej death,he was the first secretary

of the Romanian Workers’ Party in 1965 It was the first thing that he changed name

of party to The Romanian Communist Party

In 1966,he published decree about to increase population of Romania

With this decree,he try to make difficult divorce to decrease rate

In the first decades of his leadership Romania has open policy with USA and Western Country

Romania was the first goverment in Eastern Block that recognize to west Germany and the first country that visit from USA president (Richard Nixon)

In 1960 he finished the member of Warsow Pact for Romania

He went to Northern Korea and China Republic at 1973

After return home he began to emulate Nort Korea’s system,influenced by the Juche philosopy of North Korean president Kim Il Sung.North Korean books on Juche were translated into Romanian

The most important problem was foreign debt.It was the 13 billion dollar

After the referandum,they decided to export to repay loans

During 1989,he deny to people situation in Romania

He mentioned about higher living standart,according to him everything is good in Romania

Revoluation start at 17 December of 1989,after Laszlo Tökes arrested it spread to capital of Romania

HIS DEATH After he arrested ,the

military court took decision about their execution

He executed in Targovişte at 25 December of 1989 with his wife

They were the last persons are that executed in Romania
