Achievements

1. Anupam Singh (CSE 3rd yr) member of Entrepreneurship Cell of Meghnad Saha Institute of Technology won 1st Prize in various B-Plan competitions organized at Jadavpur University, Presidency University, IEM etc. during last couple of weeks.

2. Anupam Singh (CSE 3rd yr), Rohit Gupta (CSE 3rd yr), Ashish Kumar (CSE 3rd yr) and Dibyajyoti Hazra (ECE 4th yr), members of Entrepreneurship Cell of Meghnad Saha Institute of Technology under mentorship of Mr. Subhrapratim Nath, Asst. Professor of CSE Department and Advisory of Prof. (Dr.) Tirthankar Datta, Principal have won the "Infocom Future Leadership Awards (IFLA) 2016", a ABP

Initiative on December 1-3, 2016 in the student category for innovative business idea “Accident Detector”. They received the IFLA 2016 trophy and prize money of Rs 50,000.

3. Meghnad Saha Institute of Technology is empanelled in Pradhan Mantri YUVA yojona (Formerly known as Udyamita) in November, 2016 and is entitled for grant to spread awareness of entrepreneurship among engineering students. A total of 223 institutes from all over India were selected for the same.

4. Abhinaba Ghosh, Wasim Reja, Zeeshan Qadir and Md.Masud Sarkar, students of final year Electronics and Communication Engineering of Meghnad Saha Institute of Technology under mentorship of Dr. Chandi Pani and Dr. Oindri Roy, Asst.

Professors of ECE Department won the First Prize in Innovation Challenge And innovative B-Plan 2016 on 12th August, 2016 jointly organized by IIEST and National Research and Development Corporation (NRDC), Govt. of India for B-Plan “Agri-tek , the farmers way”.

5. Abhinaba Ghosh, Wasim Reja, Zeeshan Qadir and Md. Masud Sarkar, students of final year Electronics and Communication Engineering of Meghnad Saha Institute of Technology under mentorship of Dr. Chandi Pani and Dr. Oindri Roy, Asst.

Professors of ECE Department won the Second Prize at IIEST Shibpur for best prototype design of future technology on 12th August, 2016 jointly organized by IIEST and National Research and Development Corporation (NRDC), Govt. of India for the innovative project “Doc Assist”.

6. AZHAR KHURSHID, SOUVIK MITRA, TANUSREE BOSE and TIYAS BANERJEE students of Electronics and Communication Engineering, 2nd year, Meghnad Saha Institute of Technology under mentorship of Dr. Chandi Pani and Dr. Oindri Roy, Asst. Professors of ECE Department have been selected for the quarter-final stage in the "India Innovation Challenge Design Contest 2016-17", organized by Texas Instruments and Department of Science and Technology (DST) and anchored by IIM Bangalore.

Professors of ECE Department won Second Prize at CrossHack 2k16, Hackathron Competition organized by R.G. Kar Medical College, AMSA India, NASSCOM 10,000 startups.

8. Meghnad Saha Institute of Technology, Kolkata won the E-Week 2016 award by National Entrepreneurship Network (NEN). These awards are given to institutes who inspire, develop and support our next generation of entrepreneurs and entrepreneurial leaders – young people who will take India to the next level of development and growth. Our institute is part of this elite group of institutes. The winners have exceeded all reasonable expectations, and have set the standards not only for the nation, but for the world.

9. Souptik Mukherjee, Arghakamal Bhattacharya, Soham Mondol and Suvronil Ghosh of Civil Engineering Department of Meghnad Saha Institute of Technology under mentorship of Mr. Sanjay Das Neyogi, Assistant Professor of CE Department

won the 1st Prize in the event Criar held at Megalith 2016, the annual tech-fest of the Department of Civil Engineering, IIT Kharagpur.

10. PRIYANJIT KUMAR GHOSH, SUMAN BASAK, ANIK DUTTA, MOSTAFA KAMAL MALLICK and SOURAV SINHA, students of final year Electronics and Communication Engineering of Meghnad Saha Institute of Technology under mentorship of Dr. Sudip Dogra, TIC, Department of ECE and advisory of Prof. (Dr.) Tirthankar Datta, Principal MSIT have won the All India Innovative Project Competition 2015 organized by Texas Instrument, India and awarded by a Trophy and winning amountof USD 5000 from our beloved late President Prof. A.P. J. Abdul Kalam. For this, ECE Department of the college has received technical components & instrumentsworth Rs. 25,000/- from Texas Instrument India and technical componentsworth Rs. 20,000/- from Texas Instrument USA.

11. Three students from IT Department won the Second Prize & a Trophy of NASSCOM’s Hacathon Challenge 2015.

12. Dipanjan Sen of ECE 2nd year, 2015 took part in the Under-19 National Volleyball

championship.

13. Ms. Gunja Chakraborty of ECE 4th year, 2015 received National Scholarship in Bharatnatyam.

Principal MSIT have won 1st Prize in NASSCOM Innovative Challenge.

Professors of ECE Department filed a patent [201631021014] for their product Doc-Assist by IP creation, Government Of India.

16. Diptansu Sinha, student of final year Electronics and Communication Engineering of Meghnad Saha Institute of Technology under mentorship of Mr. Manas Chanda published R&D paper in IEEE ICEDSS 2016 and their paper was selected as Best Paper in Track 1.

17. Jeet Basak, student of final year Electronics and Communication Engineering of Meghnad Saha Institute of Technology under mentorship of Mr. Manas Chanda published R&D paper in international conference named as IEEE ICEDSS 2016 and their paper was selected as Best Paper in Track 2.

Professors of ECE Department published R&D paper in international conference named as IEEE ICACCA FALL 2016 and their paper was selected as Best Paper in their category.
