I n item No. 5(a): I n norm No. 1.5 to be corrected and to be read as under:

1) The final fee for year 2014-15 for the students admitted in 2014-15 will be

computed in the prescribed format by considering the permitted expenditure

as per audited accounts of 2013-14 and increase it by 10% to account for the

increase in cost.

2) Format 4.1.1 to read as under:

Salary expenditure for 2013-14 to approved teaching/non teacl-ling staff. as

per DTE/AICrE/PCI/GOVERIVIYENT/COA/UlVIVERSITY norms the figure to be

given of No. of Professors/Associates Professors/Assistant Professors as per

6) Norm No. 2.2 to read as under: Non salary revenue expenditure duly audited to be submitted. This will not include depreciation, rent, depreciation for other assets, interest on loans (except interest paid on TEQUIP loan) legal charges, penalty if any and expenditure not essential /related to the conduct of courses. Ordinarily non salary expenditure should not exceed 45% of Salary expenditure.

The Samiti considered the proposals of the following Colleges/Institutes for finalization of fee structure for the students who joined the course started during Academic Year 2013-14. After deliberations, The Samiti decides to approve the final fee structure of the following Colleges/Institutes for the students who joined the course started during Academic Year 2013-14, subject to final approval/affiliation/permissions from respective Authorities. Figures are arrived at


after considering the calculations drawn in the worksheet - calculation sheets of the respective colleges/institutes prepared by a Chartered Accountant. The students admitted in Academic Year 2013-14 and there after continuing their studies will pay an enhanced fee of 8% each successive year as per the norms for 2013-14 till completion of the course. For example if the fee approved is Rs. 1,00,000/- then from 11" years onward till completion of the course i.e. say 11, I11 and IV year the fees will be Rs. 1,08,000/- per @. I n case the students take V th years for completing the course then he shall pay the fee approved in that year. I n case a student joins the course direct in second year, then he shall be required to pay Rs. 1,08,000/-. Worksheet - Calculation sheets are available in the office.

Item No. 5: To consider the letter dated 5/01/2014 received from Zeal Education Societv's Dnvanqanqa Collecie Of Enqineerinq & Research requestinq to finalise and declare fees for second shift se~aratelv for the Academic Year 2013-14.

Considered the letter dated 8/1/2014 of the Institute. Office to correct the declaration and include 2nd shift in the declaration dated 5/8/2013 regarding approval of fee.

Item No. 6: To consider the email letter dated 5/5/2014 received from Sinhqad Technical Education Societv requestinq to declare the component of other fees should be treated as part of Tuition fees for 2nd vear students for the Academic vear 2013-14.

Considered the letter dated 29/3/2014 received from the institute. This Institute has not approached for approval of fee by the Samiti in respect of its MBA course for 2012-13. Therefore as per the resolution of the samiti it can charge only Govt. fee. As social welfare department of the Govt. does not approves the entire fee of Rs. 74,000/- and it wants to exclude the other fee of Rs. 33,000/-, then the Samiti can do nothing in the matter. It is for the Institute to approach the Social welfare department in this respect. Office to Comniur~icate.

Item No. 7: Anv other matter with the permission of the chair.

I n view of the complaint received from Mr. Balasaheb Baburao Jambulkar this committee passed a resolution and rejected the said complaint. He challenged the same in the High Court. Two PIL came to be filed in the High Court of Bombay against Mumbai Educational Trust (MET).One PIL was of Mr. Balasaheb Baburao Jambulkar. The High court passed the ordered dated 14/3/2014 and directed the committee to re - consider the complaint of Mr. Balasaheb Baburao Jambulkar. Considering financial implications involved, the committee appointed S.R. Pandit and Co., Chartered Accountants to go into the accounts etc of the concerned 4 Institutions of MET and report. The MET challenged the order passed by the High Court dated 14/3/2014 in the Supreme Court by filling Petition (s) for Special Leave to Appeal (Civil) No. (s) 12550/2014. The Supreme Court on 8/5/2014 passed the order and stayed proceedings before the committee for 3 months. Therefore atleast till 8/8/2014 this committee can take no steps. S.R. Pandit and Co., Chartered Accountants sent an e- mail on 9/5/2014 stating that they have almost cor~~~pleted the work. They wanted to


discuss with the committee before preparing the report. On 14/5/2014 a letter was written by the said Chartered Accountants to the committee seeking guidance in respect of certain matters mentioned therein and whether they can be considered for approval of fee by the cornmittee.They wanted to meet the committee for in that purpose.

(The order passed by the Supreme Court was submitted to this committee office on 9/5/2014 by IVIET).

But in view of the order passed by the Supreme Court now no steps can be taken by the committee atleast till 8/8/2014. Office to communicate this to S.R. Pandit and Co., Chartered Accountants.
