Serves as a Project Manager within the Acquisitions and Technology (A&T) Branch and Environmental Solutions Division. Provides project specific recommendations and guidance in conjunction with engineering solutions to complex NetZero energy, waste and water issues at Army and Air Force installations. Participates on the Joint Deployment Waste to Energy Community of Interest.

Currently on the A&T Pollution Prevention Opportunity Assessment Team that uses a comprehensive approach to reduce and prevent pollution at the source. The goal is to reduce the amount of any hazardous substance, pollutant, or contaminant entering any waste stream at installations and to mitigate environmental impacts of any implemented solution while implementing current and federal regulatory requirements.

Performing a Lean Six Sigma process improvement on the Drying Pad Facility at Fort Hood in order to reduce the potential pollution from post activities, mitigate hazardous waste, and re-utilize reclaimed resources or return resources to original unpolluted condition and re-establish them in the natural environment.

Provides technical advice on energy, waste, and water issues for DoD installations as needed.. Completed the USAEC Defense Environmental Restoration Program Energy Audit Plan (EAP) which

provided guidance on performing energy assessments at installation restoration sites. The EAP was designed to reduce energy consumption at cleanup sites and to also add renewable energy projects that are of best value to the government. The energy produced can be tied back into the grid, lowering the cost of installations’ energy bill and helping installations reach E.O.13693 mandates.

Completed a Depleted Uranium Atlas, for use throughout the Department of Defense (DoD), which depicts the ranges and locations where Davy Crockett weaponry was employed.

Completed multiple technology de-brief articles to implement best management practices (BMPs) on sustainable design and energy efficiency throughout the Army.

Participated in a two month developmental assignment program within IMCOM’s G-4 Public Works Energy and Utilities. Reviewed over 300 energy and utility projects for technical accuracy, worked with garrison energy managers to resolve project issues, supported development of the FY15 QUTM project list; provided invaluable information to support project prioritization and ensured garrison submittal met minimum administrative and technical requirements. Evaluated life-cycle cost analysis of FY14 and FY15 QUTM projects for technical accuracy and resolve discrepancies with garrisons.

Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) environmental programs at McAlester Army Ammunition Plant, Joliet Army Ammunition Plant, Crane Army Ammunition Activity, and Dugway Proving Ground.

Served as the Contracting Officer Representative (COR) for the Dugway ERMA contract. Conducted on-site safety and compliance inspections. Supervised contractors to ensure they followed regulatory guidelines and provided oversight to make certain they corrected all regulatory deficiencies. Managed remedial investigations, designed and/or provided alternative solutions for construction, operations and maintenance, and long term monitoring on environmental restoration sites. Worked closely with the EPA and state regulators to develop specific site objectives. Performed engineering analysis to create technical evaluations, which ensured government funding was used ethically and appropriately.

Ensured that environmental program budgeting and planning for assigned installations was defensible and executable. Designed, implemented, and managed environmental projects that supported installations’ environmental initiatives. Provided guidance and support to installations on issues related to planning and executing environmental programs. Proactively worked with project teams to resolve issues that impede project progress.

Participated as a coordinator on an Environmental Performance Assessment System (EPAS) team and as an auditor in the hazardous waste and hazardous material media to ensure installations met CERCLA or RCRA Federal, State and local laws and regulations for the clean- up and disposal of hazardous liquid chemicals, gases, and munitions.

Participated in (SICE) Board Meetings and as part of The Big Idea group for renewable energies and ways to save federal funds. Currently participating as a member of the Virtual Net-Zero Team (VZNT) to develop strategies and apply initiatives for meeting Net-Zero objectives and goals on Army installations. Completed a 30-day assignment at the Garrison level, Fort Bliss, a pilot installation for Net-Zero energy, water, and waste. Worked closely with the Environmental Division to provide insight on waste to energy initiatives, concentrated solar panels, geothermal energy, recycling, and reclamation of grey water. Worked to develop alternatives to complex issues for bird strikes, transportation using pipelines and trucks, fly ash, radar interferences, sacred Native American burial sites, and hazardous gases and liquids.

United States Army Environmental Command F.C.I.P. 10/2010 - 04/2011 Served as a physical scientist intern with the Army Environmental Command (AEC) in the Cleanup

Division’s Program Management (PM) branch. As a Program Coordinator maintained contract plans for the West and NGB funding branches. Performed quarterly programmatic reviews to present noncompliant findings and deficiencies.

Participated as a meeting coordinator for the RACER (Remedial Action Cost Engineering and Requirements) Technical Research Group (TRG) and the RACER Steering Committee to procure RACER Software updates. Attended Strategy Meetings to ensure installations have accurate plans for meeting future goals and objectives.

United States Army Environmental Command O.R.I.S.E. 08/2009 – 10/2010 Oak Ridge Institute of Science and Education (ORISE) program-sponsored opportunity. Serve as an

environmental engineering intern with the Army Environmental Command (AEC) Cleanup Division Program Management (PM) branch. Position entailed working the Permanent Cleanup Document Repository (PCDR) program.

As a team member performed research and gathered data for the Defense Environmental Programs Annual Report to Congress (DEP ARC). The Report describes the Department's accomplishments during the past year in several programs; including environmental restoration and establishes plans and funding requirements for future actions.

Oak Ridge National Laboratory 06/2008-08/2008 Performed an independent research study to determine the characterization of liquid-liquid dispersions

generated by a centrifugal contactor. Conducted phase inversion experiments by measuring conductivity to determine the ambivalence regional boundaries. Performed as a project leader on various innovative assignments. Attended weekly presentations on environmental sustainability, and sustainable energy for the Faculty and Student Teams (F.a.S.T.) program. My research was selected for the online brochure and website for the ORISE FaST Program.

The Department of Chemical Engineering 08/2007-05/2008 As a student aid participated in a group research project that focused on converting energy into chemical

energy through photoelectrocatalytic splitting of water into hydrogen and oxygen using titania nanotubes grown on titanium films.
