Everything I have written for work has been in point format, well I guess I will start and see what happens. Since our changeover it has been a very busy time for Medowie Lions with our members attending Raymond Terrace, Fingal Bay and Tilligerry Lions Clubs’ for their changeovers. Soldiers Point Changeover will be attended this coming Tuesday 26 th July. The Bunning’s BBQ on the 26 th June was attended by just about every member of the club and Mirinda Gillett (Camp Kookaburra), a very nice young lady with her head screwed on who should go far in this world. A clear profit of $456 was generated. Have requested further days at Bunning’s, will advise when known. There were two Driver Reviver weekends, not a busy time but you have to think about the lives we could have saved by providing this service. 375 cups and $229 in donations. On the 14 th July we had a stall at Raymond Terrace Marketown selling Xmas Puddings and raffle tickets, 4 books and 9 pudding sold. It rained and then it rained some more. The occasion was for the drawing of the $100,000 Shop until you Drop competition run by 2KO. And guess what, Lion Keith in his normal manner won $100.The numbers were down from expectations but we did our best and sold $493 in sausage sandwiches and drinks. Lion Trish also did her thing and sold 3 books of raffle tickets on top of her 1 and a bit books at Probus. Great work Trish. On a date still to be set we will again be assisting the HPCA to collect monies at a Knights game, will advise date etc once known. Also, the Bull and Bush has requested our participation in another Car Show on Sunday the 16 th of October, it will be the same as previous Car Shows. The Board has agreed to participate. Will advise further details when known. As I write this report our club’s Treasurer, the lovely Lion Rhonda (a person has to get brownie points whenever he can) advises that we have sold approximately $1,900 worth of raffle tickets. Lions Club of MedowieNEWS BULLETINJuly 2011FROM THE PRESIDENT

My first report as president, where do I start, what do I say. Everything I have written for work has been in point format, well I guess I will start and see what happens.

Since our changeover it has been a very busy time for Medowie Lions with our members attending Raymond Terrace, Fingal Bay and Tilligerry Lions Clubs’ for their changeovers. Soldiers Point Changeover will be attended this coming Tuesday 26th July.

The Bunning’s BBQ on the 26th June was attended by just about every member of the club and Mirinda Gillett (Camp Kookaburra), a very nice young lady with her head screwed on who should go far in this world. A clear profit of $456 was generated. Have requested further days at Bunning’s, will advise when known.

There were two Driver Reviver weekends, not a busy time but you have to think about the lives we could have saved by providing this service. 375 cups and $229 in donations.

On the 14th July we had a stall at Raymond Terrace Marketown selling Xmas Puddings and raffle tickets, 4 books and 9 pudding sold. Everyone had such fun we are doing it all again on the 28th July

Lion Keith did some fast-talking and a few harried e-mails to get a crew together to assist the Hunter Prostate Cancer Alliance (HPCA) cook up a sausage sizzle at the Good Guys store Warner’s Bay.

Also, the Bull and Bush has requested our participation in another Car Show on Sunday the 16th of October, it will be the same as previous Car Shows. The Board has agreed to participate. Will advise further details when known.

As I write this report our club’s Treasurer, the lovely Lion Rhonda (a person has to get brownie points whenever he can) advises that we have sold approximately $1,900 worth of raffle tickets.

The Board has agreed that the half yearly dues will be subsidized by the club, they will be $30 per member and $25 per family member. They are now due and payable.

See you all at the Roberts’ on Wednesday the 27th of July for Xmas in July.

All the best,Yours in LionismLion Graham
