Technology During the 1950’s a lot of technology was being produced such as auto tune which changed the sound of music forever as before that artists relied on just there vocals could now play around with their sound to create something that no one had ever heard, Also introduced in the 1950’s was electronic synths which meant that artists that used instruments to make music, now didn’t have to, they didn’t have to use real music they could use the music sound which was produced for them on the computer which was less time consuming and meant that artists could release music more frequently,

Timeline

In the 50’s, Television was just introduced and was only in black and white. The only source of music and entertainment widely known was for radio or word of mouth, only rich people could afford television.

In the 60’s, the genre of music was mostly Rock

music. This was because The Beatles were a new band

who had just come to fame. Television was more

common now so it would be easier for people to know about different bands and

types of music.

In the 1970’s, the most popular type of music was Disco. We saw the rise of the genre due to many artists changing

the style of their music. The most popular bands were The Beegees and they also provided the

music for a very popular film called Saturday

Night Fever. This then influenced Disco music

even more.

Music in the 80’s was mostly Pop and Dance music. This

was influenced because of new technology being produced

such as synthesizers. One of the most popular artists of the

Music in the 2000’s was mostly

indie-pop. The most popular artists in the
