Warner Brothers is an American production company, but they invested money into the Harry Potter franchise, suggesting that they
can advertise world-wide, but as our production is a gritty British thriller, this company wouldn’t be appropriate.
Universal Studios:Film Title: Genre: Budget:
Hannibal(2001)
Crime, thriller, drama
$87,000,000
Bourne Ultimatum(2007)
Action, crime, thriller
$110,000,000
Dream House(2011)

$55,000,000
Universal Studios is a large American production company, which owns many rights and shares in other companies which means they
would be able to produce and advertise our trailer easily and effectively. Again, this company is American and thus wouldn’t be
appropriate.
20th Century Fox: Film Title: Genre: Budget:

$90,000,000
Taken(2008)
Action, crime, thriller
$25,000,000
The Happening(2008)
Sci-fi, thriller $48,000,000
20th Century Fox has their own television channel, and would be able to easily advertise on this, like they did with Star Wars and Avatar,
which were both very successful. This production company has produced British films, and makes it well-known by the British Film
Industry.
Miramax:Film Title: Genre: Budget:
The Debt(2010)

Blindness(2008)
Mystery, Sci-fi $25,000,000

Miramax is an American distribution company, but is known for producing independent, foreign and British films. In 1993, it was
bought by Disney for $60 million. Miramax is well known for gritty drama and thrillers. This makes it an ideal candidate to distribute our
production.
Handmade Films:Film Title: Genre: Budget:
Lock, Stock &Two Smoking Barrels(1998)
Crime, thriller £960,000
Cracks(2009)
Drama, thriller £750,000
Highlander: The Source(2007)
Action, adventure
$13,000,000
Handmade films are a British film production and distribution company. One of their biggest and most successful releases was ‘Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels’ which is a film we have been influenced by whilst making our production. After finding out that they were affiliated with the film we did some research into the company to see if they would be a suitable distribution company for our production. This would make it
suitable for our film because it has the seriousness of ‘Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels’ and other similar “gangster”/crime genre.
