Ultimate goals: In Sport: Paralympic gold; In Life: To know I’ve done all that I can

PERSONAL:Family (Names): Wife, Vanessa. Children, Heidi 10 & Amity 8What I love about Triathlon: I still get to race able bodied age group athletes on the same courses I did pre injuryOther interesting facts: In 2005 (5 days before what would be my first Ironman) I had a serious training accident and suffered four fractured vertebra with spinal cord damage at L1, an open book pelvic fracture, two broken elbows and spent five months in hospital and nine months away from training. Why did you take up your sport? How did you get involved? As an able bodied athlete I was dared by a friend to do a triathlon, as a para-athlete I just wanted to keep doing the sport I loved.

OUTSIDE TRIATHLON:Hobbies: My sport is my only hobbyMost influence on my life: My Mum and Dad, Frank {passed away 2007} & Trish.Heroes/Role models: The paramedics, doctors and nurses who saved my lifeWhere do you see yourself in 10 years? Happy, with my family, retired from work and competing for funWhat would you do with your last $10? Buy a coffee and a block of chocolateUltimate Relaxation: Holidaying in MooloolabaOne thing you can’t live without: OxygenActivities away from Triathlon: Spending as much time with my family as possible. Pets: The kids have a cat called tiger but he doesn’t like me. Last Book Read: Louise Sauvage “My Story”What’s your greatest asset: The ability to push beyond the wall

FAVOURITE:Sporting Team/s: Australian WallabiesMovies: Primal Fear TV Shows: That 70s ShowFavourite holiday destination: Mooloolaba Bands/Music: Blink 182Food: Dark chocolate dipped in dollop creamDrink: Mineral waterAthlete in Triathlon: Paul MatthewsAthlete: Roger Federer

Notable Quote: Quote: “Only those who risk going too far can possibly find out how far they can go” T.S. Eliot
