What is Media Literacy? A set of perspectives that we use to

expose ourselves to the media and interpret the meaning of the messages we encounter

What does that mean?

Your ability to:

Understand how media messages shape our society

Recognize what the media producers want us to believe or do

Evaluate media messages based on our own experiences, skills, beliefs, and values
