Furosemide is a loop diuretic, or "water pill," used in the treatment of edema, hlpertension and congestive heart
failure. This diuretic is also used to treat renal impairment and induce urination. The single dose is appropriate for
use to aid in specimen collection for urinalysis at the discretion of the physician.
