MECHANICAL GENERAL NOTES:
BOUNDARY LINES SHOWN ON THE DRAWINGS DO NOT LIMIT THE SCOPE OF WORK FOR THE PROJECT. CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL WORK NOTED IN CONTRACT DOCUMENTS.
CONTRACTOR SHALL COMPLY WITH ALL REGULATIONS AND LAWS OF AUTHORITIES HAVING JURISDICTION.
CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE TO FIELD LOCATE AND IDENTIFY ALL UNDERGROUND UTILITIES WITHIN THE CONSTRUCTION AREA, WHETHER INDICATED ON DRAWINGS OR NOT. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR REPAIRS TO UNDERGROUND UTILITIES DAMAGED DURING CONSTRUCTION. NO REIMBURSEMENT WILL BE ALLOWED FOR UTILITY REPAIR/OR REPLACEMENT.
CONTRACTOR SHALL VERIFY ALL EXISTING CONDITIONS AND NOTIFY THE ENGINEER AT ONCE OF ANY DISCREPANCIES.
ALL PENETRATIONS THROUGH DESIGNATED FIRE RATED WALLS, CEILINGS AND FLOOR SLABS (WHICH ARE 1 AND 2-HOUR RATED) SHALL BE PROPERLY SEALED WITH AN APPROVED RATED FIRE AND SMOKE STOPPING MATERIAL. ALL FIRE AND SMOKE STOPPING MATERIAL SHALL BE SUPPLIED AND WORK PERFORMED AS PER PROJECT SPECIFICATIONS. CONTRACTOR SHALL SUBMIT MANUFACTURER'S CATALOG DATA AND INSTALLATION DETAIL AS PER SPECIFICATIONS FOR FIRE AND SMOKE STOPPING TO THE ENGINEER FOR REVIEW AND APPROVAL PRIOR INSTALLATION. FIRESTOPPING RATING TO MATCH THAT OF FIRE RATED WALL BEING PENETRATED.
THE CONTRACTOR SHALL NOT BE ALLOWED ANY STORAGE AREA OTHER THAN THAT AVAILABLE WITHIN THE LIMITS OF THE STAGING AREA, CONFINES OF THE WORK AREA, OR AS DESIGNATED BY THE OWNER.
A COPY OF THE CURRENT SET OF CONTRACT DOCUMENTS (WITH AS-BUILT INFORMATION) SHALL BE KEPT AT THE JOB SITE AT ALL TIMES BY THE CONTRACTOR.
EACH CONTRACTOR SHALL REVIEW ALL PROJECT DOCUMENTS OF ALL TRADES FOR A THOROUGH UNDERSTANDING OF PROJECT AND ANY CROSS REFERENCING OF WORK. REVIEW ALL PROJECT REQUIREMENTS PRIOR TO BIDDING. IN CASE OF DISCREPANCIES, THE MOST STRINGENT SHALL GOVERN.
THE CONTRACTOR SHALL GUARANTEE THE ENTIRE INSTALLATION FOR A PERIOD OF ONE YEAR (EXCEPT WHERE EXTENSIONS OF THIS ONE YEAR PERIOD ARE NOTED) FROM THE DATE OF ACCEPTANCE OF THE SYSTEM AS A WHOLE. ANY DEFECTS, IN WORKMANSHIP, MATERIALS, MALFUNCTION OF EQUIPMENT OR UNSATISFACTORY PERFORMANCE, AND ALL OTHER WORK OR PARTS OF THE BUILDING DAMAGED THEREBY, AS A RESULT OF THE WORK OF THE CONTRACTOR, SHALL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR. CONTRACTOR SHALL PAY ALL REPAIR COSTS ACCORDINGLY WITHOUT ADDITIONAL COSTS TO OWNER.
IN ADDITION TO SPECIFICATIONS, AS MAY BE DEFINED HEREAFTER, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROTECT THE WORK SITE AND ALL HIS OR HER WORK AGAINST ANY DAMAGE (INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WATER, DUST, HEAT, ETC.) UNTIL FINAL COMPLETION AND ACCEPTANCE BY THE OWNER.
CONTRACTOR SHALL, UPON COMPLETION OF THE WORK, SUBMIT AS-BUILT RECORD DRAWINGS SHOWING ALL CHANGES FROM THE CONTRACT DRAWINGS MADE IN THE INSTALLATION, AND SHOWING DIMENSION LOCATIONS OF CONCEALED EQUIPMENT.
DRAWINGS ARE DIAGRAMMATIC AND INDICATE THE GENERAL CAPACITIES AND LOCATIONS OF EQUIPMENT.
CONTRACTOR SHALL KEEP WORK AREA CLEAN, ORDERLY, AND REMOVE ALL DEMOLISHED TRASH/ RUBBLE/CONSTRUCTION DEBRIS ON A DAILY BASIS FROM THE WORK AREA AND OFF OWNERS PROPERTY. ALL TRASH/RUBBLE/CONSTRUCTION DEBRIS DEEMED AS HAZARDOUS WASTE/MATERIAL SHALL BE DISPOSED OF IN ACCORDANCE WITH EPA OR ANY OTHER PERTINENT GOVERNING AGENCY AND DISPOSED OF ACCORDINGLY AT AN APPROVED HAZARDOUS WASTE DUMPSITE WITH ALL OF THE APPROVED/REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION.
COORDINATE AND PHASE WORK IN CONJUNCTION WITH OTHER TRADES.
DURING CONSTRUCTION, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR PROVIDING ALL HIS EMPLOYEES WITH SAFE AND HEALTHY WORKING CONDITIONS AS PRESCRIBED IN THE "SAFETY AND HEALTH REGULATIONS FOR CONSTRUCTION" OF THE OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH ADMINISTRATION OF THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF LABOR.
SECURE AND DELIVER TO THE OWNER'S REPRESENTATIVE ALL CERTIFICATES OF COMPLIANCE REQUIRED BY LOCAL AUTHORITIES.

CONTRACTOR SHALL FURNISH AND INSTALL A COMPLETE HVAC DUCT SYSTEM TO ALL DIFFUSERS AND/OR EQUIPMENT REQUIRING SUCH. VERIFY ALL ROUGH-IN LOCATIONS AND COORDINATE HVAC LOCATIONS WITH WORK UNDER OTHER DIVISIONS OF THE SPECIFICATIONS TO AVOID CONFLICTS.
CONTRACTOR SHALL SECURE AND PAY FOR ALL PERMITS, INSPECTION CERTIFICATES, ETC. REQUIRED UNDER THE PROJECT SCOPE.
CONTRACTOR SHALL FIELD VERIFY CONDITIONS AND DIMENSIONS PRIOR TO CONSTRUCTION, AND NOTIFY ENGINEERS OF ANY DISCREPANCIES BETWEEN THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS AND CONDITIONS AND/OR POTENTIAL PROBLEMS OBSERVED PRIOR TO CONTINUING WORK.
DO NOT SCALE THE PLANS. SEE ARCHITECTURAL PLANS FOR EXACT LOCATIONS OF DOORS, WINDOWS, WALL DIMENSIONS, ETC.
CONTRACTOR WILL GIVE NOTICE TO ALL APPLICABLE UTILITY COMPANIES AND OWNER PRIOR TO PERFORMING WORK INVOLVING UTILITIES.
ALL EQUIPMENT SHALL BE HANDLED, STORED, AND PROTECTED TO PREVENT DAMAGE BEFORE AND DURING INSTALLATION IN ACCORDANCE WITH MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS.
ALL EQUIPMENT SHALL BE LOCATED AND INSTALLED IN A READILY ACCESSIBLE LOCATION SO AS TO PERMIT ACCESS FOR SERVICE WITHOUT DAMAGE TO BUILDING OR FINISHED MATERIALS, PER MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND APPLICABLE CODES.
ALL MATERIALS SHALL BE NEW AND SHALL FIT THE SPACE AVAILABLE. VERIFY DIMENSIONS AT SITE.
ALL PIPING, APPARATUS, AND EQUIPMENT, ETC. SHALL BE PROPERLY SUPPORTED, BRACED VERTICALLY AND HORIZONTALLY IN ACCORDANCE WITH APPLICABLE CODES AND AS REQUIRED TO PREVENT EXCESSIVE MOVEMENT DURING SEISMIC CONDITIONS.
VALVES AND FITTINGS SHALL BE OF THE SAME SIZE AS THE PIPING FOR WHICH THEY ARE INSTALLED, UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED.
CONTRACTOR SHALL VERIFY AND CORRECT SYSTEMS AS REQUIRED TO MEET ALL CODES AND REGULATIONS AND VERIFY AND CORRECT ANY/ALL POSSIBLE DISCREPANCIES BETWEEN TYPE AND SIZE OF CONNECTIONS SPECIFIED IN THE EQUIPMENT SCHEDULES AND EQUIPMENT ACTUALLY INSTALLED.
ALL PIPING SHALL BE ROUTED SO AS TO BE CONCEALED ABOVE CEILINGS, WITHIN WALLS, OR IN CHASES, EXCEPT FINAL CONNECTIONS, OR IN MECHANICAL ROOMS, UNLESS SPECIFICALLY NOTED OTHERWISE.
CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR COORDINATING INSTALLATION OF ALL EQUIPMENT SHOWN ON PLANS, INCLUDING COORDINATION OF ANY EQUIPMENT OF ALTERNATE MANUFACTURER. CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE COMPOSITE DRAWINGS AS REQUIRED FOR INSTALLATION OF EQUIPMENT SHOWN ON PLANS FOR APPROVAL BY ENGINEER.
ALL ROOF ACCESSORIES SHALL BE COMPATIBLE WITH ROOFING SYSTEMS.
CONTRACTOR SHALL BECOME FAMILIAR WITH ALL CONDITIONS AFFECTING THIS PROJECT AND COORDINATE WITH ALL OTHER DISCIPLINES.
PRIOR TO ACCEPTANCE OF THE SPACE, ALL SYSTEMS SHALL BE TESTED, BALANCED, AND OPERATED TO DEMONSTRATE TO THE OWNER , OR HIS OR HER DESIGNATED REPRESENTATIVE, THAT THE INSTALLATION AND PERFORMANCE OF THESE SYSTEMS AND/OR PARTS THEREOF CONFORM TO THE DESIGN INTENT.
JUNCTION BOXES OR ANY EQUIPMENT REQUIRING CEILING ACCESS SHALL ONLY BE PERMITTED/LOCATED IN ACCESSIBLE TYPE CEILING AREAS (I.E. LAY-IN TYPE CEILING) OR WHERE ACCESS PANELS HAVE BEEN LOCATED. REFER TO ARCHITECTURAL DRAWINGS.
CONTRACTOR SHALL INSTALL DUCTWORK SYSTEMS PER LATEST SMACNA MANUALS. DUCT WORK SYSTEMS SHALL BE GALVANIZED G90 SHELL STEEL RATED FOR A PRESSURE CLASS OF 2" WG.
THE USE OF NEW EQUIPMENT TO PROVIDE TEMPORARY HEATING AND COOLING TO CONSTRUCTION AREAS IS TO BE MINIMIZED. WHEN NEW EQUIPMENT HAS TO BE USED, IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR TO MAINTAIN THE EQUIPMENT WHILE IN OPERATION AND JUST BEFORE IT IS TURNED OVER THE OWNER. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHALL THE WARRANTY PERIODS PROVIDED FOR IN THE SPECIFICATIONS BE ABRIDGED BY THE TEMPORARY USE DURING CONSTRUCTION.
CONTRACTOR SHALL REPAIR/PATCH ALL SURFACES/WALLS DAMAGED BY CONSTRUCTION.

VAV RTU SEQUENCE OF OPERATION (RTU-1 AND RTU-2):
BUILDING AUTOMATION SYSTEM INTERFACE:
THE BUILDING AUTOMATION SYSTEM (BAS) SHALL SEND THE CONTROLLER MORNING WARM-UP/PRE-COOL, OCCUPIED / UNOCCUPIED AND HEAT / COOL MODES. IF A BAS IS NOT PRESENT, OR COMMUNICATION IS LOST WITH THE BAS THE CONTROLLER SHALL OPERATE USING DEFAULT MODES AND SETPOINTS. THE BAS SHALL ALSO SEND THE CONTROLLER A DUCT STATIC PRESSURE SETPOINT, DISCHARGE AIR TEMPERATURE SETPOINT, AND VENTILATION AIRFLOW SETPOINT, EACH CALCULATED BY OPTIMIZATION ROUTINES IN THE BAS.
OCCUPIED MODE:
DURING OCCUPIED PERIODS, THE SUPPLY FAN SHALL RUN CONTINUOUSLY AND THE OUTSIDE AIR DAMPER SHALL OPEN TO MAINTAIN MINIMUM CODE REQUIRED OUTSIDE AIR AND THE CURRENT AIRFLOW SETPOINT. THE UNIT CONTROLLER SHALL CONTROL THE SUPPLY FAN SPEED TO MAINTAIN THE CURRENT DUCT STATIC PRESSURE SETPOINT (ADJ.). THE DX COOLING SHALL MODULATE AND GAS HEAT SHALL MODULATE TO MAINTAIN THE CURRENT DISCHARGE AIR TEMPERATURE SETPOINT. IF ECONOMIZING IS ENABLED THE OUTSIDE AIR DAMPER SHALL MODULATE TO MAINTAIN THE CURRENT DISCHARGE AIR TEMPERATURE SETPOINT.
UNOCCUPIED MODE:
WHEN THE SPACE TEMPERATURE (55°F ADJ) IS BELOW THE UNOCCUPIED HEATING SETPOINT OF 60.0 DEG. F (ADJ.) THE SUPPLY FAN SHALL START, THE OUTSIDE AIR DAMPER SHALL REMAIN CLOSED AND THE GAS HEAT SHALL BE ENABLED. WHEN THE SPACE TEMPERATURE RISES ABOVE THE UNOCCUPIED HEATING SETPOINT OF 60.0 DEG. F (ADJ.) PLUS THE UNOCCUPIED DIFFERENTIAL OF 4.0 DEG. F (ADJ.) THE SUPPLY FAN SHALL STOP AND THE GAS HEAT SHALL BE DISABLED. WHEN THE SPACE TEMPERATURE IS ABOVE THE UNOCCUPIED COOLING SETPOINT OF 85.0 DEG. F (ADJ.) THE SUPPLY AND RETURN FANS SHALL START, THE OUTSIDE AIR DAMPER SHALL OPEN IF ECONOMIZING IS ENABLED AND REMAIN CLOSED IF ECONOMIZING IS DISABLED AND THE DX COOLING SHALL BE ENABLED. WHEN THE SPACE TEMPERATURE FALLS BELOW THE UNOCCUPIED COOLING SETPOINT OF 80.0 DEG. F (ADJ.) MINUS THE UNOCCUPIED DIFFERENTIAL OF 4.0 DEG. F (ADJ.) THE SUPPLY FAN SHALL STOP, THE DX COOLING SHALL BE DISABLED AND THE OUTSIDE AIR DAMPER SHALL CLOSE.
OPTIMAL START:
THE BAS SHALL MONITOR THE SCHEDULED OCCUPIED TIME, OCCUPIED SPACE SETPOINTS AND SPACE TEMPERATURE TO CALCULATE WHEN THE OPTIMAL START OCCURS.
MORNING WARM-UP MODE:
DURING OPTIMAL START, IF THE AVERAGE SPACE TEMPERATURE IS BELOW THE OCCUPIED HEATING SETPOINT A MORNING WARM-UP MODE SHALL BE ACTIVATED. WHEN MORNING WARM-UP IS INITIATED THE UNIT SHALL ENABLE THE SUPPLY FAN AND HEATING. THE OUTSIDE AIR DAMPER SHALL REMAIN CLOSED. WHEN THE AVERAGE SPACE TEMPERATURE REACHES THE OCCUPIED HEATING SETPOINT (ADJ.), THE UNIT SHALL TRANSITION TO THE OCCUPIED MODE.
PRE-COOL MODE:
DURING OPTIMAL START, IF THE AVERAGE SPACE TEMPERATURE IS ABOVE THE OCCUPIED COOLING SETPOINT, PRE-COOL MODE SHALL BE ACTIVATED. WHEN PRE-COOL IS INITIATED THE UNIT SHALL ENABLE THE FAN AND COOLING OR ECONOMIZER. THE OUTSIDE AIR DAMPER SHALL REMAIN CLOSED, UNLESS ECONOMIZING. WHEN THE AVERAGE SPACE TEMPERATURE REACHES OCCUPIED COOLING SETPOINT (ADJ.), THE UNIT SHALL TRANSITION TO THE OCCUPIED MODE.
OPTIMAL STOP:
THE BAS SHALL MONITOR THE SCHEDULED UNOCCUPIED TIME, OCCUPIED SETPOINTS AND SPACE TEMPERATURE TO CALCULATE WHEN THE OPTIMAL STOP OCCURS. WHEN THE OPTIMAL STOP MODE IS ACTIVE THE UNIT CONTROLLER SHALL MAINTAIN THE SPACE TEMPERATURE TO THE SPACE TEMPERATURE OFFSET SETPOINT.
COOLING MODE:
THE UNIT CONTROLLER SHALL USE THE DISCHARGE AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR AND DISCHARGE AIR TEMPERATURE COOLING SETPOINT TO DETERMINE WHEN TO INITIATE REQUESTS FOR COOLING. DISCHARGE AIR SETPOINT SHALL BE MAINTAINED BY MODULATING THE ECONOMIZER OR STAGING/MODULATING THE DX COOLING AS REQUIRED TO MAINTAIN THE DISCHARGE AIR SETPOINT. ONCE ALL ECONOMIZING REQUIREMENTS HAVE BEEN MET, COMPRESSOR OPERATION WILL BE ENABLED IF THE ECONOMIZER ALONE CANNOT MEET THE DEMAND. ONCE COMPRESSOR OPERATION IS STARTED, THE VARIABLE SPEED COMPRESSOR WILL BE MODULATED TO MAINTAIN THE DISCHARGE AIR TEMPERATURE TO THE ACTIVE DISCHARGE AIR COOLING SETPOINT. IF THE VARIABLE SPEED COMPRESSOR REACHES ITS MAXIMUM SPEED FOR STAGE ONE, AND THERE IS ADDITIONAL DEMAND FOR COOLING, THE CONTROLLER WILL ENERGIZE THE FIRST FIXED SPEED COMPRESSOR ON CIRCUIT TWO. ONCE THE FIRST FIXED SPEED COMPRESSOR IS ENERGIZED, THE VARIABLE COMPRESSOR SPEED WILL BE REDUCED TO ITS MINIMUM SPEED, THEN RELEASED BACK TO DISCHARGE AIR TEMPERATURE CONTROL. ADDITIONAL STAGES WILL RESPOND IN THE SAME MANNER. ONCE THE ACTIVE COOLING DEMAND HAS BEEN SATISFIED, COMPRESSORS WILL BEGIN STAGING DOWN IN REVERSE ORDER FROM THE STAGE UP SEQUENCE. ONCE THE UNIT HAS STAGED DOWN FIXED COMPRESSOR(S), AND THERE IS NO LONGER A DEMAND FOR THE VARIABLE SPEED COMPRESSOR, THE COMPRESSOR WILL MODULATE DOWN TO ITS MINIMUM SPEED AND THEN WILL BE DE-ENERGIZED, WHILE ADHERING TO ALL SHUTDOWN REQUIREMENTS.
HEATING MODE:
DURING UNOCCUPIED HEATING OR MORNING WARM-UP MODE, THE UNIT HEAT REQUEST WILL BE COMMUNICATED TO THE SYSTEM VAVS PRIOR TO COMMENCING HEATING OPERATION TO ALLOW VAV UNITS TO OPEN. THE VFD SHALL BE COMMANDED TO 100% AND THE HEAT WILL BE STAGED ON AND OFF TO SATISFY THE ZONE TEMPERATURE SETPOINT. DURING OCCUPIED CHANGEOVER HEATING, THE UNIT CONTROLLER SHALL MODULATE THE GAS HEAT TO MAINTAIN THE DISCHARGE AIR HEATING SETPOINT SUPPLY AIR TEMPERATURE RESET CONTROL.
THE SUPPLY AIR TEMPERATURE SETPOINT SHALL BE RESET TO THE OPTIMAL SETPOINT COMMUNICATED BY THE BAS. THE BAS SHALL RESET THE SUPPLY AIR TEMPERATURE SETPOINT BASED ON THE CURRENT OUTSIDE AIR TEMPERATURE BUT SHALL OVERRIDE THIS RESET FUNCTION AND RETURN THE SUPPLY AIR TEMPERATURE SETPOINT TO 55.0 DEG. F (ADJ.) IF MORE THAN THREE (ADJ.) ZONES BEGIN TO OVERHEAT. ALSO, THE BAS SHALL OVERRIDE THIS RESET FUNCTION WHENEVER OUTDOOR DEW POINT IS HIGHER THAN 60.0 DEG. F (ADJ.) OR INDOOR HUMIDITY IS HIGHER THAN 60% RH (ADJ.). IF THE SUPPLY AIR TEMPERATURE DROPS BELOW THE MINIMUM LIMIT, A LOW TEMPERATURE ALARM SHALL BE ANNUNCIATED AND THE UNIT SHALL SHUT DOWN. IF THE SUPPLY AIR TEMPERATURE RISES ABOVE THE MAXIMUM LIMIT, A HIGH TEMPERATURE ALARM SHALL BE ANNUNCIATED.
ECONOMIZER/COMPARATIVE ENTHALPY:
OUTSIDE AIR (OA) ENTHALPY SHALL BE COMPARED WITH RETURN AIR (RA) ENTHALPY POINT. THE ECONOMIZER SHALL ENABLE WHEN OA ENTHALPY IS LESS THAN RA ENTHALPY - 3.0 BTU/LB. THE ECONOMIZER SHALL DISABLE WHEN OA ENTHALPY IS GREATER THAN RA ENTHALPY.
SUPPLY FAN OPERATION:
THE SUPPLY FAN SHALL BE ENABLED WHILE IN THE OCCUPIED MODE AND CYCLED ON DURING THE UNOCCUPIED MODE. THE UNIT CONTROLLER SHALL VARY THE SUPPLY FAN SPEED TO MEET CURRENT COOLING AND HEATING LOADS. A PRESSURE SWITCH SHALL MONITOR THE DIFFERENTIAL PRESSURE ACROSS SUPPLY FAN. IF THE SWITCH DOES NOT OPEN WITHIN 30 SECONDS AFTER A REQUEST FOR FAN OPERATION, A FAN FAILURE ALARM SHALL BE ANNUNCIATED AND THE UNIT SHALL STOP, REQUIRING A MANUAL RESET TO RE-START THE UNIT. IF THE SUPPLY DUCT STATIC PRESSURE REACHES 3.00 INCHES OF W.C. (ADJ.), THE HIGH LIMIT PRESSURE SWITCH SHALL SHUT DOWN THE UNIT, REQUIRING A MANUAL RESET TO RE-START THE UNIT.
SUPPLY DUCT STATIC PRESSURE CONTROL:
THE DUCT STATIC PRESSURE SETPOINT SHALL BE RESET TO THE OPTIMAL SETPOINT COMMUNICATED BY THE BAS. THE BAS SHALL RESET THE DUCT STATIC PRESSURE SETPOINT BASED ON THE POSITION OF THE FURTHEST OPEN VAV DAMPER.
STATIC PRESSURE HIGH LIMIT:
IF FOR ANY REASON THE SUPPLY AIR PRESSURE EXCEEDS ITS RESPECTIVE STATIC PRESSURE HIGH LIMIT, THE FAN SHALL SHUT DOWN. THE UNIT SHALL BE ALLOWED TO RESTART THREE TIMES AFTER A 15 MINUTE OFF PERIOD. IF THE OVERPRESSURIZATION CONDITION OCCURS ON THE FOURTH RESTART, THE UNIT SHALL SHUT DOWN AND A MANUAL RESET DIAGNOSTIC IS DISPLAYED AT THE REMOTE PANEL AND/OR THE BAS SYSTEM.
SMOKE DETECTOR SHUTDOWN (RTU-1 ONLY):
THE UNIT SHALL SHUT DOWN IN RESPONSE TO A SIGNAL FROM EITHER SMOKE DETECTOR INDICATING THE PRESENCE OF SMOKE. THE SMOKE DETECTORS SHALL BE INTERLOCKED TO THE UNIT THROUGH THE DRY CONTACTS OF THE SMOKE DETECTORS. A MANUAL RESET OF THE SMOKE DETECTORS SHALL BE REQUIRED TO RESTART THE UNIT.
FILTER STATUS:
A DIFFERENTIAL PRESSURE SWITCH SHALL MONITOR THE DIFFERENTIAL PRESSURE ACROSS THE FILTER WHEN THE FAN IS RUNNING. IF THE SWITCH CLOSES FOR 2 MINUTES AFTER A REQUEST FOR FAN OPERATION A DIRTY FILTER ALARM SHALL BE ANNUNCIATED AT THE BAS.
