What did people do long time ago before rulers, tape measures, metre sticks, ...etc?(pg.195)
Also, a FATHOM, which used to be used to measure the depth of water from a boatwas a stone attached to a piece of rope. It was thrown into the water and slowly measured by lengths of someone's outstretched arms as it came out. It is now standardized as 6 FEET.
There are TWO systems of measurement that are primarily used in the world:
METRIC (SI) IMPERIAL
