Measures of central tendency are three different ways of describing a group of data. They are   Mean (or Average)   Median   Mode

  The range is also an important measure, being the highest score minus the lowest score, however it tells us how much the data is spread.

  For example if the average of a class test was 75% that indicates that if everybody got the same score it would have to be 75%.

  Think of the median strip on a road, it separates the two halves of the road exactly down the middle. If the scores are in order from lowest to highest than the middle is the median.

  If there are an even number of scores then the median will fall between two numbers, in that case we calculate the half way point between these two numbers.

  They all are! But sometimes it does depend on the situation so think about it carefully.
