From 1st September 2016, the price of a school meal increased
to £2.00 per day. We have delayed the increase to parents, and
so the new price will apply from Wednesday 4th January 2017
when we return to school after Christmas. (The cost of Nursery
dinner remains the same at £1.75 per day.)

Reading Group Do you have an insatiable love of reading? Are you in Year 5 or 6?
Would you love a chance to discuss some amazing books with your
fellow pupils? At St. Catherine’s we are keen to support and develop a
love of reading. A new group is to be run by Miss Waller on a
Wednesday during school time for six children. Each child will be given
a new book and asked to read a selection of pages in their own time.
Every Wednesday we will meet in a small reading group to talk over
the book so far. At the end of each book, a review will be written to
inform others of the books strengths and weaknesses.
Warning! This is not a guided reading session, it is a chance to read
some exciting new books and develop your ability to discuss and
debate literature! If you would like to join the Reading Group, please
complete the slip below and return it to Miss Waller as soon as you
can!
Reading Group For the attention of Miss Waller
I would like to join the Reading Group! (If you have already returned the slip, you don’t need to fill it in again!)

Weather Warning Winter is on the way, it’s going to be cold, and we might get
snow. We’ve had some children coming to school without a coat,
but they definitely need one! Please make sure your child is
properly equipped for the cold weather, they are going to need:
Hat
Gloves
Warm coat
Warm shoes or boots
Please make sure that all clothing brought into
school has your child’s name in it. You can buy
a marker pen from the school office for £1, or
you can order sew-in or iron-in labels!
If it snows …
… we will send a message out
on Twitter to say if we’re open
or closed!
… the Twitter feed is on the
Home page, so you can check
it on the school website!
… staff will all be really busy
clearing school and making it
as safe as we can … or we’ll be
stranded away from school …
we probably won’t be able to
answer the phone, so please
don’t call to ask if we’re open!
Texts will only be sent if
we close during the day
and children need to be
collected early.
If school is open,
but you are not
able to get here …
… you need to contact
school to let us know why
you won’t be coming –
please phone and leave a
voicemail, or send an email: [email protected]
You will be marked absent,
but it will usually be
authorised!
