www.eyecareatschool.com.au Did you know that 1 in 5 children suffer from an
undetected vision problem?
Children learn more through their sense of vision than
with all their other senses combined! That is why good
vision is essential for a child to reach their full academic potential.
Eyecare at School will be visiting MEADOW HEIGHTS PRIMARY SCHOOL from Monday 24th
February to provide eye examinations for students. This service is bulk billed with Medicare
so there is no cost to parents. The mobile clinic is specifically designed to offer
comprehensive eye examinations, with a special focus on diagnosing problematic eye
disorders that can affect the child's learning ability.
The eye exam will typically take approximately 20-25 minutes. All relevant aspects of your
child's vision and eye health will be assessed. At the end of the eye exam your child will
receive a report detailing the findings, the need for glasses, and any need for referral for
specialist assessment.
In order for your child to be seen by the Optometrist you must complete and return the
Consent Form to the school signed by a parent or guardian by Monday 24th February.

Dear Parents and Carers Our special event this week was the announcement and presentation of the badges to our School Captains and House Captains at Assembly. It is an honour for our students to be selected for these positons. PARKING AROUND SCHOOLS
Safety around our school is a priority for the school and our families. Dropping your children off and picking them up at the end of the day at school can be stressful and there can be a lot of traffic. Road rules apply to all drivers near schools. The best way to keep our children safe in school zones is to obey the parking restrictions and school speed zones. The Council Traffic Officers are monitoring our school area. Reminder: MEET THE TEACHER MEETINGS are on next week. If you have not organised an interview please do so. Warm regards Mrs Margaret Leach School Principal
If you have not downloaded the FLEXIBUZZ app,
please do so asap. You will receive our weekly
newsletter and special notices on your device.
If you have any problems/questions please come to
the office and we will assist you. Don’t miss out!

students to dress up in cultural outfits as part of the day and bring a gold coin donation. Parents are
invited to come along at morning recess (11:00) for a picnic with their children. Just bring some food
to share with your family and a rug to sit on. The HUB will also be holding a special morning tea for

We would like to announce that the Auditions for the Meadow Heights Glee Club & Band 2020 will be held in next week on TUESDAY 25th FEBRUARY – WEEK 5 – FOR GRADE 4 , 5 and 6. Students don’t need to sign up, they just need to come to room 24 at lunch time on the above dates and wait their turn.
ALL STUDENTS NEED TO MAKE SURE TO HAVE A SONG OR DANCE READY TO PERFORM AT THE AUDITION If students know how to play a musical instrument they need to bring their instrument along and have a musical piece ready to perform at auditions. If students are keen in learning to play a musical instrument and really want to be part of the MHPS band, then they will still have an interview with the Glee Club teachers. We look forward to auditions and seeing the amazing talent our MHPS students have. Mrs Silvia Menelaou & Mr Daniel Knox MHPS Glee Club & Band Teachers
