Favorite Christmas By William McCormicK

I don’t really have a favorite christmas because they are all my almost the same, some of my favorite things that has happened on christmas. One of them being when I got a crocodile head in my stocking it was one of the strangest things I’ve gotten on christmas. Another fun thing that we do a few days before christmas is me and my family go to louisville to have christmas with my cousins who live there and while we are up there we spend the night and they have a really big house. More about the crocodile head it was small and you would see the neck bone.

Hot Chocolate My favorite Christmas memory was drinking hot chocolate. I love putting whipped cream and

chocolate chips as a topping. It is better when you are curled up in a blanket watching “Rudolph the red Nosed Reindeer”, and it's snowing outside. Before I drink my Hot Chocolate I will go outside and sleed down the hill. We have a “huge” hill so it's better. I love to eat the marshmallows alone cause I don't like marshmallows on the top. A Lot of people will drink mtn dew or pepsi in the winter but i think it is too cold for it. I don’t wait for the hot chocolate to cool down, I just go on ahead and drink it. I wear about 4 layers in the winter, but it's worth it to go outside and look at the lights with friends and family. This is my favorite christmas memory hot chocolate.

Living Poet Society By: KayLee Rogers

What is Living Poet Society? The Living Poet Society is a group of students who come together due to their love of poetry. We have students from the middle school and high school that meet in the auditorium every Friday from 3:30-6pm. We all take turns reading poetry and we often write as well. It is very inspiring and it helps boost our confidence. This society was created by Mr. Adam Allison because of one of his former

students, Billy. Billy inspired Mr. Allison with his wonderful poetry. Due to the fact that we are very unique, we will be featured on the news so people can learn more about us. Due to popularity, we are now at capacity with around 30 members and we can not have any other people join. However, I have not only gained a group of friends, I’ve gained a family. We are all very close in Living Poet Society and I wouldn’t change it one bit! A Peek Inside When performing, we first step into the spotlight and say our names. We then get an overwhelming response from the audience saying,” We love you _____!” It truly is an amazing experience. After reading our poems, we get praised on how well we did and we get tips on how to make everything better. More recently, we have been practicing for our poetry show at the end of the school year. We have been working on being more confident when reading and improving our poetry. One of my favourite things about Living Poet Society is our hug moments. This is when someone reads a poem that is very emotional and, more often than not, someone calls for a “hug moment”. We will all come together in a hug and comfort the author of the poem. It really helps people feel better and that is when we realise that we have truly created a family. In conclusion, clubs like this are a great influence and I would definitely joining one!
