Oceanic to continental
Why- I believe this is located along this type of tectonic plate boundary because oceanic to continental convergence occurs from pressure of subduction

Divergent
Why- I believe that this is located here because it is at mid ocean ridges and occurs when two tectonic plates are moving away from each other resulting in rifts and rift valleys being formed.

Continental to continental
Why- I believe this is located on this type of tectonic plate boundary because this is where folding and faulting occurs. Ex this would not be somewhere that volcanoes occur because there is not subduction occurring.

Transform
Why- Because these plates are sliding passed each other causing them to eventually build up enough pressure that one will have to break.

Oceanic to Oceanic
Why- Because this is where subduction takes place. The result of this is oceanic to oceanic convergence as well as volcanic islands and trenches.

Natural Disasters 830 A.M TH
Analysis on Google Earth Assignment.
Before I took this class I did not think much about earthquakes simply because I was not
educated on them nor very interested. This class has so far been a huge eye opener to me on how
earthquakes can affect mine and my family’s life directly. Before this class I always thought to myself
that an earthquake won’t happen to us, the geologists have been saying it’s going to happen for so long
and it hasn’t; so therefore I was making assumptions that it will not happen in my lifetime and if it does
things will just work out for me. I have now learned that these assumptions of mine were very incorrect.
I have now taken into consideration that I need to have a 72 hour kit and be prepared for when
something happens because it will I take these precautions very seriously now.
I have greatly enjoyed this Natural Disasters class so far for many reasons, one being that I have
never realized how much goes on for just one earthquake to occur. I have changed my views on how
many puzzle pieces are involved in each and everything that occurs on this planet.
My understandings of earthquakes have changed dramatically. I feel so much more aware and
knowledgeable of the natural disasters that could happen so close to home. I knew that Utah lies on the
Wasatch fault but until I took this class I was not aware of the extent of the danger that could potentially
happen and especially that my house sits right on the Wasatch fault line. This class has so far changed
my views and greatly increased my knowledge on the causes of earthquakes, the effects and why they
occur where they do.
