technology dictates that the new range of Solar Panels only require normal daylight, not

bright sunlight to operate; therefore they are an ideal replacement for standard battery op-

erated lamps.

MC Electronics’ range of products includes a wide selection of trackside and depot safety

limit and marker boards signal reminder appliances for signal boxes and illuminated warning

The MCE1901 has been designed to fit the needs of travelling engineers or in-

spectors; it can be rolled up to fit in to a tool bag or brief case.

The innovative design means that, when at site, the lamp can be fixed to the

train by means of a hook or magnet. The “NOT TO BE MOVED” signs unfurls

and is easily held by a sign support. The unit has been designed to be rugged. It

has a heavy duty sealed on/off switch, integral battery holder and LED circuit.

Provision is made for ID tags. Signs can be made to your specification.

Supplied with 2 x “C” batteries it has a long battery life.

A safer method of working is achieved by this standard, multi fit universal

system for all types of stock, whether steel, GRP, or aluminium sided trains, to

enable MCE NOT TO BE MOVED Signs and Lights to be safely and securely fitted

at depots, platforms locations and fuel points.

Safety Features

This innovative fixing system enables the standardisation of NOT TO BE MOVED

signs across all train fleets. It enhances safety by ensuring that ALL TRAIN

DRIVERS & MAINTENANCE STAFF know when & where a NTBM sign is fitted

and are able to take control of their own safety.

Cost Effective

Attaching a small bracket to each train the new fixing system from MCE allows

Depots to use just one type of sign.

Once fitted the NOT TO BE MOVED Sign is locked to the train, deterring unau-

thorised removal. The secure fixing makes sure that the sign will not come de-

tached in all weather conditions and at all locations inside and outside of De-

pots. The brackets can be fitted at two points on the train, high for platform

locations or lower for use at ground level working.

The lamp has the added benefit over the standard battery

Version, of an intelligent integrated solar recharging system. By using 2 standard D cell 1.5 volt batteries and a rechargeable cell, giving extended working life and is designed to give up to 3 years of maintenance free use.

The power is primarily given by the solar panel, via the

Rechargeable cell, if the light is insufficient to charge the solar cell, or at night, the 2 standard batteries take over until such time as the light level rises. Ideal for use in fixed or Depot

locations. Hinges flat when not in use.

Simply insert the key and press the on/off switch (Fig 1) to

operate the unit. The lamp will flash at night time or in failing light. To test during daylight, in the upright position, completely cover both lenses the lamp will now flash. If lamp is steady not flashing press the switch, next to the on/off switch, marked F/S, once.

IMPORTANT: ONCE THE UNIT IS INSTALLED AND SWITCHED ON THERE IS NO NEED TO USE THE MANUAL ON OFF SWITCH. THE UNIT WILL AUTOMATICALLY OPERATE AT NIGHT WHEN IN THE UP-RIGHT

POSITION.

To change the 2 standard batteries, simply remove large screw on the lamp (Fig 2), release the lamp from chassis, remove the bottom of the lamp case as in the attached diagram, replace the 2 x “D” cell 1.5 volt batteries only (Fig 3) (there is no need to change the single rechargeable battery) and refit the lamp.

DESCRIPTION/APPLICATION A warning plate lamp to give indication of an impending speed re-striction, used on Metronet’s Infrastructure.

MCE Part No 1501

The MCE Miniature Warning Lamp is designed to fit in the four foot to give an advanced warning or a variety of hazard situations in depots and for possible use on Network Rail Infrastructure (subject to approval).

The unit fits neatly in the four foot (clear of the conductor rail) and below the vertical clearance height to allow the unit to be fitted in the correct location, locked and left in place allowing traffic to pass over it.

The unit can be supplied with either the lamps on day and night or night time only. The unit has two flashing yellow aspect lights; LED powered and can be supplied with red or white, if required. Differ-ent colour aspects are available.

The Unit is powered by 2 No standard lantern type 996 6 volt bat-teries or alternatively can be supplied with a sealed lead acid re-chargeable battery, giving extended battery life. This unit is robust and easily fitted.

The lamp has the added benefit of an integrated solar system re-charging 2 x 1.5 volt batteries giving extended working life and is designed to give up to 3 years of maintenance free use.

Once switched on the lamp will operate automatically, switching on at dusk and off at dawn.

Simply insert the key and press the on/off switch to operate the unit, replace the lamp into the metal chassis and fit the screw.

Once inserted in the chassis the switches cannot be seen, deterring unauthorised operation.

To change the batteries simply remove the lamp from the metal chassis, release the battery holder, replace the 2 x “D” cell 1.5 volt batteries and refit the lamp.

For Stopblock and Level Crossing applications choose the steady mode, this is easily done by using the key to operate the steady/flashing switch situated next to the on/off switch.

Light output is via high intensity LEDs with 100,000 hours life

expectancy, the case is made from Polycarbonate with U.V protec-tion; the lenses are high impact polypropylene.

Terms & Conditions of Sale & Trading, March 2010

General:

These conditions throughout override any previous conditions and conditions stated by the Buyer throughout unless they are expressly accepted by the Seller. No variation of any of these conditions bind the Seller unless expressly accepted by the Seller in writing. The placing of an order with the Seller is deemed to be acceptance of these conditions by the Buyer. These conditions supersede any earlier sets of conditions appearing in the Seller’s catalogues or elsewhere or any conditions referred to in any negotiations unless expressly agreed to by the Seller in writing. Quotations: Quotations for the supply of goods manufactured by the Seller are valid for thirty days from date of quotations. Quotations may be withdrawn or varied by the seller within the thirty day period by written or oral notice at any time before acceptance by the Buyer. Prices included in quotations are applicable only if an order is placed covering the whole quotation. If an order is placed for only part of the quotation the Seller reserves the right to re-quote. Price: Except where a price is stated to be “fixed” by the Seller in its written acceptance prices charged are those ruling at the date of despatch to the Buyer. Prices are exclusive of Value Added Tax and delivery charges. Delivery and carriage charges, Value Added Tax and any other Government duty, rate, importation, charge or tax applicable to the supply of goods to the Buyer by the Seller are payable by the Buyer. Payment: Payment for goods are strictly 30 days net following the date of the Seller’s invoice. The Seller shall have the right to claim and charge interest at the of 2.5% per month on a day to day basis on all sums due to the Seller and unpaid for the period from the date upon which payment is due until the date upon which payment is made both before and after judgement but nothing herein shall entitle the Buyer to withhold or delay any payment due to the Seller after the date upon which it falls due or in any way prejudice the Seller’s rights in relation to non-payment. The Seller may at any time require the Buyer to make a payment in advance of delivery. Notwithstanding these conditions the Seller reserves the right to stop credit at any time and to call for immediate full payment for goods delivered or labour or services performed. If the Buyer shall fail to pay any amount when it is due under these conditions or any other contract with the Seller or when required by the Seller, then the Seller reserves the right without prejudice to any other remedy which it may have to cancel any outstanding order of the Buyer under these conditions or any other contract between the parties to suspend the manufacture or delivery on any such order or contract until payment shall have been made.

Ownership: Without prejudice to the Conditions, goods delivered by the Seller to the Buyer shall remain the property of the Seller until the Seller has been paid in full including any interest charged by these Conditions. In the case of a cheque given by or on behalf of the Buyer in payment title to the goods shall not pass until the cheque has cleared. The Seller may recover the goods (but excluding any goods the ownership of which has already passed to the Buyer) at any time from the Buyer if in the Buyer’s possession if the amount outstanding from the Buyer to the Seller in respect of the goods supplied has not been paid in full and for that purpose the Seller its servants and agents may enter upon any land or building upon which the goods are situated provided that If the Seller shall resell the goods so recovered or any part thereof the Seller shall give the Buyer credit for any sum received by the Seller in excess of the unpaid price (including any interest charged under these conditions) of such goods. Without prejudice to the other provisions of this condition the Buyer may dispose of the goods in the ordinary course of his business as principal (but any warranties, conditions or representations given or made by the Buyer to any third party shall not be binding on the Seller who shall be indemnified by the Buyer in respect thereof) and may pass good title in the goods to a third party being a bona fide purchaser for value without notice of the Seller’s rights. If the goods or any part thereof, whether or not incorporated into other products or used as material for other products, are resold by the Buyer before he has made full payment to the Seller as aforesaid, the Seller shall have first charge on the products of such resale and the Buyer shall hold upon trust for the Seller out of the proceeds of resale such sum as shall be equal to the amount then owing to the Seller in respect of the goods (including any interest charged under these Conditions) provided that if the Buyer has not received the proceeds of such resale in full the Seller shall be subrogated (without the need for further documentation) to the Buyer’s rights against its customer to the extent of any balance still outstanding due to the Seller in respect of the goods (including any interest charged under these Conditions). Nothing contained herein shall affect any other rights the Seller may have against the Buyer’s customer. Delivery: If no time for delivery is specified the Buyer shall be bound to accept the goods when they are ready for delivery by the Seller. Any specified time or date for delivery is approximate and an estimate only and whilst every effort will be made to meet such time or date the Seller shall not accept any liability for any loss arising either directly or indirectly from delay in delivery however caused. Without prejudice to the Conditions, the Seller shall not be liable for any delay in delivery or non-delivery of goods caused by any circumstances beyond the Seller’s control including without limitation any Act of God, explosion, fire, flood, war, hostilities, accident, delay in delivery or non-delivery by the Seller’s suppliers, break downs or accidents to machinery, labour, strike or dispute, order or decree of any Court or action of any Government Authority or any other causes or circumstances whatsoever beyond the Seller’s control and on the occurrence of any of the above events the Seller reserves the right to cancel or suspend the whole or any part of any delivery and the Seller shall not be liable for any inability to deliver caused by any such event. The Seller will endeavour to comply with any reasonable request by the Buyer for the postponement of delivery but shall be under no obligation to do so. Where delivery is postponed at the Buyer’s request the Buyer shall pay to the Seller all costs and expenses including a reasonable charge for storage and transportation occasioned by the Buyer’s request. Guarantee: All MC Electronics Ltd goods are guaranteed against faulty components or workmanship, but excluding misuse, for a period of one year from the date of purchase. MC Electronics Ltd will not be responsible for any consequential loss from product or component failure within the guarantee or thereafter. In the event of a failure return the item to MC Electronics for repair or replacement, proof of the date of purchase will be required. Representations: The Seller shall not be bound by any oral condition warranty or representation given or made on its behalf unless confirmed in writing nor by any expressed or implied terms, condition or warranty arising by statute or common law or by usage save and except a warranty that the goods shall correspond with the contractual description. Risk:

Where the goods are collected by or on behalf of the Buyer from the Seller or the Seller’s Agent, the goods are at the sole risk of the Buyer from the time when the goods leave the Seller or Agent’s possession. Where the Seller delivers the goods at the Buyer’s premises or at some place which the Buyer directs, the goods are at the sole risk of the Buyer from the time of delivery at such premises or place. Where the goods are delivered by the Seller or the Seller’s Agent to a carrier, the goods are at the sole risk of the Buyer from the time of delivery to the carrier.

Claims: The Buyer shall have no rights or claims against the Seller for short delivery or defects in materials or workmanship apparent on inspection unless: (a) the goods are inspected by or on behalf of the Buyer (b) a written complaint (otherwise than by a qualified signature on the delivery note) is made to the Seller within three days of receipt of the goods and (c) the Seller is given an opportunity to inspect the goods and investigate any complaint or claim before any use is made of the goods.

If the complaint or claim is not made by the Buyer to the Seller as provided by the Conditions, the goods shall be deemed to be in all respects in accordance with these Conditions and accepted by the Buyer and the Buyer shall be bound by these Conditions and to pay for the goods. Clerical errors will be corrected if the claim for such errors is made by the Buyer within three days of receipt of the goods.

Without prejudice to the Conditions, goods not examined on delivery must be signed for as ‘goods not examined’.

Returns: Unless there is prior written agreement, goods returned will not be accepted for credit. Goods which may be accepted for credit on return are: Stock items returned in perfect condition with carriage paid.

Insolvency: In the event of a Receiver being appointed of the Buyer’s property or assets or any part thereof or of an Order of the Court being made or Resolution passed or the winding up of the Buyer (except for the purpose of amalgamation or reconstruction) or of the Buyer committing any act of bankruptcy or having any bankruptcy petition presented against him then the Seller shall be at liberty forthwith by notice in writing to cancel all orders under these Conditions and other contracts or any part thereof remaining unfulfilled between the Seller and the Buyer (without prejudice to any claim or any other rights which the Seller has against the Buyer) and neither the Buyer nor any other person shall have a right to recover compensation or damages from the Seller by reason of such cancellation.

Cancellation and alteration of orders: Orders cannot be cancelled or altered except with the written consent of the Seller and on terms which will indemnify the Seller against all loss and expenses incurred to the date of cancellation or alteration.

Patents and Copyright/Intellectual Property Rights: All MC Electronics Ltd drawings have copyright and are the property of MC Electronics Ltd and may not be reproduced either in part or in whole in any way whatsoever without written permission of MC Electronics Ltd. MC Electronics Ltd retain ownership of any designs produced by MC Electronics Ltd unless otherwise agreed in writing. All MC Electronics Ltd products are covered by intellectual property rights and by copyright. Patent Pending.

Specification in a pattern or design:

Where the goods are made to the Buyer’s specification, pattern or design, the Buyer is deemed to undertake to indemnify the Seller against any loss, damage or expense which the Seller may incur (whether in respect of any proceedings or otherwise) by reason of any infringement of any trade mark, patent or registered design in any country or involve the infringement of any industrial property rights whether registered or not.

Where tools or dye or other things have to be made specially to produce goods to the Buyer’s pattern, such tools or dyes or other things shall not become the property of the Buyer unless otherwise expressly agreed in writing by the Seller.

Buyer’s drawings: The Buyer shall be solely responsible for the accuracy of all drawings, measurement advice and recommendations given to the Seller by the Buyer either directly or indirectly or by the Buyer’s own advisers or consultants. Examination or consideration by the Seller of such drawings, measurements advice and recommendations shall in no way limit the Buyer’s responsibility under these Conditions unless the Seller specifically agrees in writing to accept responsibility. The Buyer shall indemnify the Seller from and against all actions, claims, costs, demands and proceedings which arise due to the manufacture of components to the drawings and specifications of the Buyer where such drawings and specifica-tions shall be at fault and where it is alleged that they involve an infringement of a patent registered design trade mark, copyright or other exclusive right.

Legal construction: The Law of England shall govern the validity, construction and performance of any contract to which these Conditions and any other contract arising out of them shall apply. Any legal proceedings against the Seller or Buyer arising out of or in connection with these Conditions or any contract must be brought in the Courts of England who shall have exclusive jurisdiction. The headings of these Conditions shall not affect the construction of any of the Conditions.
