PHOTO“McCutcheon High School is offering Digital Photo students (Junior & Seniors ONLY) the opportunity to receive 3 college credit for FREE. This program, Project Excel, is a nationally accredited program available through Vincennes University and is currently offered for FREE. These credits may be applied to their major should they attend Vincennes or may be transferred to any other college or university as an elective credit. I repeat, they will not lose this credit if they decide not to attend Vincennes! Students will earn the 3 hours credit as long as they earn an A, B, or C in the class.

If you have any questions please contact Digital Photography instructors Sherry Brechbiel ([email protected]) or Julia Berry ([email protected])”

MCCUTCHEON CAFÉ NEWSWe are excited here in the Maverick Café for the upcoming school year.

We have some exciting new recipes, will be making more foods from scratch and we think you kids will really like it.

Some things to remember to make the lunch process easier for you and your child. You can pay lunch money online if you have not set up an account please do so at the TSC website. Remind your child to always have a fruit or Veggie in hand when they get to the cashier, this will be considered a reimbursable lunch which to you means a cheaper lunch than if they would buy the Entrée & milk separately.

If you ever have any questions please feel free to stop in and see me or reach me by phone or e-mail.

Thank youShirley RussellMaverick Café [email protected]

ECA-Spring ECA results should be with the student’s teacher as late as next week. A copy of your students report will NOT be available until late July at the McCutcheon Guidance office. We will mail any students report home if they are within a 15 point window of passing (passing is 360 for English 10 and 564 for Algebra I), so you will have the login information to request a rescore starting July 28th. Rescore information: You can access your student’s answers (images) to the constructed-response items and request rescores using Questar Assessment’s ServicePoint™ system beginning July 28, 2014.

Please note: Your student’s answers and the rescore request window will only be accessible July 28 – August 15, 2014.

Only Graduation Examinations are eligible for rescore. Biology I is not a Graduation Examination.

If your student’s performance level increases due to rescoring, an updated student report will be sent to your student’s school in September 2014. The school will then send the report to you. (It is important to note that a student’s scores cannot decrease as a result of a rescore request.) If the rescore did not result in a change in student’s score a new report will not be sent.

The username, password, and login information you will need to access images and to request any rescores via Questar Assessment’s ServicePoint™ system is located on the back of your student’s Individual Student Report (ISR).

Please contact your students counselor if you have questions.

2014-15 SCHEDULESStudents will receive their 2014-15 schedules on Wednesday, May 28th. Please talk with your students about these schedules. Schedules are subject to change throughout the summer due to balancing of classes. The computer will process and arrange course requests. Schedules will not be changed to accommodate requests for teachers, lunch hours, time of day, friends, enemies, etc. Also, remind and encourage your students to check their student emails throughout the summer, as counselors may be emailing them if/when there is a problem with their schedule.

2014 Seniors – Transcripts will be uploaded to Parchment officially on June 11, 2014. Please remember to go on to the Parchment website and request that your final transcript be sent to your specific College.

ACCUPLACER DIAGNOSTIC TESTINGLetters were emailed to students and mailed home to all parents of students who took the Accuplacer Diagnostic Assessment in March 2014 (it should have your students’ scores in a chart at the bottom of the letter). If your child falls into the needs improvement category in at least 3 of the 5 domains for either test, the school will be offering remediation in that area. If your student fell into the needs improvement category they received a schedule with the BASIC SKILLS class in either English, Math or Both (one each semester). There is also the option that a student can take an English or Math Basic Skills class during summer school. Please talk to your student’s counselor to discuss options. The July Summer School option is still available if you have your student registered by June 30th.
