This week's staff spotlight is Tiffany Johnson, Director of Career Services. Last week we had the pleasure of working with Tiffany on the Natural Hair Forum. What better time than to highlight her contributions to a diverse and inclusive campus. Tiffany is from Rison, Arkansas, she has a Bachelor's Degree in Broadcast Journalism and Public Relations, as well as a Master's Degree in College Student Personnel Services and Administration. Tiffany enjoys spending time with her son, Kyler, and going to his football games. She loves traveling, and studied abroad in Europe. She serves as a parent representative at Fow Meadow Intermediate, and as Secretary on the Board for Office of Arkansas Associate of College and Employers

Q & A w it h Tif fany

What drew you to your current posit ion?

Passion in assisting students on their career path. She knew she wanted to grow in her career field and felt A-State was a wonderful school and wanted to join a team that was determined to help students. Once the job opened she was happy to apply because she felt her determination and love of helping students find their career path was perfect for her.

What is a goal you have for this academic year?

She hopes to increase internship opportunities and full time jobs for A-State students. She will continue collaborating with students, staff and connecting with more employers and increase placement numbers.

Last week the MC hosted our monthly Multicultural Monday. This month we highlighted Native American Heritage. Our MC Ambassadors quizzed students over their knowledge and handed out prizes.

This week the MC will be hosting a Transgender Day of Remembrance Event. On Thursday, November 16, 2017, we will be remembering those members of the Transgender community who we lost to violence in 2017. We will hear their stories and honor their memory. The counseling center will be standing by for anyone who may need their services.
