I am amazed at how quickly my two years as President of the Orange County NASF has gone by. I’ve enjoyed getting to know all of you in this informal brotherhood of surface finishers. The owners, managers, engineers, consultants, retirees, individual contributors and vendors in our group are the best!

I’d like to thank the officers and board members of this branch for their hard work and enthusiastic support. They keep our branch moving forward, providing technical education as well as a welcoming environment at our meetings. I’d like to send a special thanks to the members who have spoken to our group and shared their hard-won knowledge. I’m truly amazed at how smart you are!

Our group has a remarkable camaraderie. The good news is that we like to talk about business and we enjoy each other. The bad news is that we talk so much that sometimes our dinner is late – but I wouldn’t have it any other way!

Finally, thanks to Rick Armstrong and Chuck Hirbour from Technic, Stephen LeClaire from Tri-Star and Dustin Ostiell from Sorenson Engineering for last month’s excellent presentation and discussion on Gold Plating and Methods to Lower the Gold Usage. I’d also like to thank our own Cleaning Lady, Barbara Kanegsberg, in advance for this month’s talk on Cleaning.

Have a safe and happy summer. See you in September!

What you missed!!

Will You Be The Next Winner of the

50/50 raffle?

Stephen La Claire was also our Big 50/50 Raffle Winner!!

Well it’s better said “What Did I Miss”. Sorry, I missed the meeting, but Paul and I were enjoying some vacation time.

Also, sorry there aren’t any pictures to show you, but it seems none were taken in our absence. Our Bad!

However, it sounds like you had a pretty good crowd last month. I heard Chuck, Rick, Stephen, Dustin and Ron did a great job inspiring questions and discussion. I hope all of you learned a lot. The Topic was on Selec%ve  gold  pla%ng  and  gold  reduc%on  methods  for  connectors-‐barrel  and  R2R.

There was a drawing from “the next-year topic suggestion cards” and Steven LeClaire won the free drink prize. Congratulations!
