Grading

The coin market is speculative and unregulated. Many areas ofnumismatics lend themselves to third party grading and authenti-cation. Such certification does not eliminate all risks associated withthe grading of coins and currency. Grading is a subjective matter and opinions as to the grade of a certified or uncertified item candiffer. Items graded by the various services carry the guarantees, if any, of that particular service. Securing performance on any suchguarantee is strictly between the purchaser and the particular gradingservice. Coast to Coast may or may not agree with the gradeassigned by the particular grading service. Buyer should be awarethat grading standards of coins have changed from time to time in the past and may do so again in the future.

1910. NGC. PR-65. The proofs of 1909 and 1910 were made with a ‘Roman’ or satin-finish to improve sales with contemporarycollectors who didn’t like the matte proof finish of 1908. The mint returned to matte proofs for 1911-1915.This coin is outstanding w/the squared rims & striking characteristics that are diagnostic of these beautiful proofs.
