'God saw she was getting tired,

and a cure was not to be,

So He put his arms around her

and whispered, "Come with Me,"

With tearful eyes, we watched

her suffer and saw her fade away

Although we loved her dearly,

we could not make her stay.

Her golden heart stopped beating,

hard working hands to rest.

God broke our hearts to prove

to us

He only takes the best.'

weekly gatherings to say the Rosary. On February 1, 2011, Jug passed away and

Babe moved to the LaCasa Personal Care facility in Plentywood, MT, to be closer to family. Babe enjoyed living at LaCasa, where the residents and sta were like family to her. She enjoyed playing bingo, horseshoes, and co ee hour graced with visits from family and friends. Her four years at LaCasa were a true blessing for her.

Babe loved spending me with all of her children and grandchildren. Many special memories were made at the bi-annual family reunion to gather everyone together. She enjoyed sharing and listening to family stories at these gatherings, and her face would light up when a grandchild would bring her just one more glass of that tasty White Zinfandel. Babe treasured the opportunity to watch those boys get rowdy over a game of horseshoes. Of course no family reunion was complete without a friendly, but extremely compe ve, smear tournament. Grandma’s chuckle could always be heard when her son-in-law’s Ole and Sven (as they liked to call themselves during these tournaments) went into full character and graced everyone with their never ending Scandinavian jokes. Memories of her chuckle are ones that all of her loved ones will always cherish.

Babe is survived by her children: Merlin “Jerry” (Barbara Woodbury) DeShaw, Livingston, MT and their son Jay (Sarah) Taylor, Sherry Shumake, Salem, OR and her children Fritz (Pat) Deines, Verina (John) Manriquez, Reese (Jessica) Shumake, Lola Shumake, daughter-in-law Brenda Sheehan DeShaw and her children Derek
