Alleluia ! Christ is Risen!!!
We are led to the Easter Christ in the Eucharist by
this beautiful account of our Lord’s appearance to
the two disciples on the road to Emmaus. Shat‐
tered as they were by His crucifixion and death,
news of which had passed throughout cities and
towns from Jerusalem, the disciples were in need
of the greatest gift this side of heaven, to fill them
with hope, to give them faith in the Risen Christ.
Jesus walked with them on that road. They did not
recognize him because they were looking at him
with physical eyes. He explained the Scriptures to
them. The one that Israel longed for was the One
the entire world longed for.
Scripture said that death could
not have a hold on Him. Fur‐
thermore, those who followed
him would also share in His
eternal life. They invited him
into their home and He broke
bread and gave it to them.
Then they realized that their hearts were burning
as He explained the Scriptures, and they recognized
Him in the breaking of bread, the Eucharist. How?
Perhaps the nail marks in His hands. Perhaps the
way He broke the bread. In any event, he disap‐
pears. They rush back to tell the others they have
seen the Lord. What does this mean for us? St
Luke might be telling us that the Resurrection is
news that must be told immediately to everyone.
So when people stop you today and ask what’s
new, advise them Jesus has risen just as he said. So
live today as though Christ died yesterday, rose this
morning, and is coming back tomorrow.

¡Aleluya! ¡¡¡Cristo ha Resucitado!!!
Somos dirigidos al Cristo de Pascua en la Eucaristía
por medio de este relato de la aparición del Señor a
sus dos discípulos en el camino a Emaus. Estaban
desechos por Su crucifixión y muerte, cuya noticia
había corrido por todas las ciudades y pueblos de
Jerusalen, los discípulos estaban necesitados del
regalo más grande del cielo, para llenarlos de
esperanza, para darles fe en el Cristo Resucitado.
Jesús camino con ellos en esa carretera. No lo
reconocieron porque lo miraron con ojos físicos. El
les explico las Escrituras. El que Israel esperaba era
el que esperaba todo el mundo. La Escritura dice
que la muerte no lo detuvo. Es más, los que lo
siguieron también compartirían en su vida eternal.
Ellos lo invitaron a su hogar y
compartieron pan con el. Luego
se dieron cuenta de que sus
corazones ardian mientras El les
explicaba las lecturas, y lo
reconocieron en el compartir
del pan, la Eucaristía. ¿Como?
Tal vez las señas de los clavos en
sus manos. Tal vez la manera
en partir el pan. De todas maneras, el desaparece.
Ellos corren a contarle a los demás que vieron al
Señor. ¿Que significa esto para nosotros? San
Lucas nos puede estar diciendo que la Resurrección
es noticia que debemos compartir inmediatamente
a todos. Así que si alguien te pregunta hoy que hay
de Nuevo, diles que Jesús ha resucitado igual como
lo dijo. Así que vive hoy como si Cristo murió ayer,
se levanto hoy y regresará mañana.

Trong cuộc trò chuyện trên đường đi đến làng Emmaus,
Chúa Giêsu đã dạy hai môn đệ về Thánh Kinh như lời
mời gọi chúng ta tìm đến niềm Tin nhờ thông hiểu
Thánh Kinh. Nếu lòng mình nghi ngờ, sợ sệt, chậm tin
thì sẽ đưa chúng ta đến sự vấp ngã vì thập giá. Do đó,
để bồi dưỡng đức Tin mỗi ngày thêm thăng tiến, chúng
ta phải hết lòng, hết sức tìm kiếm, ước ao, cầu nguyện,và
suy niệm lời Chúa trong hoạt động Tông Đồ. Trong bài
Phúc âm hôm nay còn dạy cách cầu nguyện và bẻ bánh
để thức tỉnh hai môn đệ cũng như chúng ta khi dự
Thánh lễ và chịu các phép bí tích, tức là chịu rửa trong
sự chết của Đức Giêsu, cũng sẽ được mai táng cùng Ngài
và cùng kết hợp với Ngài. Chết để được sống lại, cũng
như đau khổ để tới vinh quang.

hưởng ơn Cứu Độ trong Hội Thánh non trẻ. Đây là bài
thuyết giảng truyền bá Phúc Âm của Thánh Phêrô nói
thẳng thừng đến người dân Do Thái. Thánh dẫn chứng
ngay phần 16 trong Thánh Vịnh để làm rạng danh ơn
Cứu Độ của Đức Giêsu.
Chúng ta tiếp tục suy niệm trích thư thứ nhất của Thánh
Phêrô về điểm xuất sắc của bài thuyết giảng muốn mời
gọi chúng ta hiện đang sống với tấm thân tạm bợ mà
không bao giờ quên đến máu thánh Chúa Giêsu đổ ra
để cứu chuộc thiên hạ.
Bài Phúc Âm hôm nay nói đến cùng một ngày thứ ba
Phục Sinh, Chúa Giêsu đã hiện đến hai lần, một lần sáng
sớm với bà Mary Magdalene và mẹ của Giacôbê, và
khoảng xế chiều Chúa đã hiện đến với hai môn đệ trên
đường đi Emmaus. Hai mẫu chuyện nầy bổ túc cho
nhau một cách sống động trong đức Tin về Chúa Giêsu
Phục Sinh. Hai môn đệ đang thất vọng và hoang mang
lo sợ nên thốt lên lời: “Người ta đến mộ từ sáng sớm và
