ST. PEREGRINE LAZIOSI MASS AT HOLY NAME OF MARY CHURCH, MONTROSE Everyone has either been touched personally or through a family member or friend, with cancer. Please join us THIS Monday, May 5th, at 7:00PM as Holy Name of Mary Parish celebrates a Mass to honor St. Peregrine. St. Peregrine Laziosi is the Patron Saint for those who suffer cancer. At age 60, Peregrine had a cancerous growth on his own leg. The night before the doctors were going to amputate it, he prayed before the image of the crucified Christ. His prayer led him into a deep trance-like sleep during which he envisioned the crucified Christ leaving the cross and touching his cancerous leg. When Peregrine awakened, he discovered the wound healed and the leg was saved. The doctors testified they could no longer detect any trace of the disease. After Mass, join us to enjoy some fellowship and cookies.

PRAYER TO ST. PEREGRINE

Oh great Saint Peregrine, you who have been called “The Mighty” and The Wonder-Worker” because of the numerous miracles which you have obtained from God for those who have had recourse to you. For so many years you bore in your own flesh this cancerous disease that destroys the very fiber of our being, and who had recourse to the source of all grace when the power of man could do no more. You were favored with the vision of Jesus coming down from His Cross to heal your affliction. Ask God and Our Lady, the cure of these sick persons whom we entrust to you.

(Pause here and silently recall the names of the sick for whom you are praying)

Aided this way by your powerful intercession, we shall sing to God, now and for all eternity, a song of gratitude for His great goodness and mercy. Amen
