Gospel Reflections John 20: 19-23 Pentecost brings Jesus’ ministry to a focus: we are sent to continue Jesus’ ministry, armed with the Holy Spirit and specific instructions as to what we are to do: forgive. By his ascending into heaven and sending the Holy Spirit Christ makes his mission our mission. It is a great miracle that God chooses to make us real participants in God’s plan of salvation and sharers in God’s divine life. To forgive doesn’t mean to forget; it means to restore love. This is the ministry for which the Spirit empowers us, and this is how we can live in peace.

Glen Hurlburt, Scott Sylvester, Zachary Harrises, Jack Amico, Nicholas Ragone, Eric Egdorf, Todd Egdorf, Joseph Diener, Almighty God, We recommend to your gracious care and keeping all the men and women of our armed forces at home and abroad. Defend them day by day with your heavenly grace; strengthen them in their trials and temptations; give them courage to face the perils which beset them; and grant them a sense of your abiding presence wherever they may be; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Pentecost, which we celebrate this Sunday, is the liturgical season after Easter. It celebrates the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Church. Pentecost begins the eighth Sunday, or 50 days, after Easter Sunday. The descent of the Holy Spirit ushered in a new era for the people of God.

Procedure to receive communion

Human dignity is rooted in the very fact that God dwells in every single human being. That dignity is sacred. We are all equal in God’s eyes.

When coming to Saint Pius X to receive Holy Communion, please come with your own facemask. NO ONE older than 6 will be allowed into the church if they do not have a facemask covering their mouth and nose.

If you have been infected with the Corona Virus, and are still in recovery, or if you have been in contact with someone who is infected and it has been less than 14 days since, please do not come to church.

If you experience any of the known symptoms of the Virus (fever, cough, loss of smell, etc.), please do not come to church.

If you are considered a vulnerable person, or an at risk person, please consider your safety and welfare. When coming to Saint Pius X to receive Holy Communion:

You are there to receive the Eucharist, please observe the adequate REVERENCE.

ONLY the ramp entrance (Sarto Street) and the entrance by the sacristy (Lovering St. side) will be used.

Please use both entrance options equally in order to facilitate a proper flow of traffic.

DO NOT present yourself to enter the building by any other door. ALWAYS observe and respect a 6-foot distance from others. Parents with young children

should use their own judgement. Upon entering the church, either by the ramp entrance or the sacristy side entrance, keep the

flow of traffic moving, sanitize your hands and make your way to either Father or Deacon Jim.

ONLY WHEN YOU ARE IN FRONT OF FATHER OR DEACON MAY YOU REMOVE YOUR MASK.

You may receive either standing or kneeling (using the kneeler), on the tongue or in the hand. Once you have received the Body of Christ, PLACE YOUR MASK BACK ON and follow

the SILVER arrows on the floor. Make your way to the exit at the Candia Road doors us-ing the two side aisles (depending on the side where you entered the church.) If you can-not manage the stairs without great difficulty, one of the present ushers will prepare the use of the ramp while observing the proper and required distancing.

ALWAYS OBSERVE THE 6-FOOT DISTANCING. Once outside, please return to your vehicle promptly. ABSOLUTELY NO lingering outside your vehi-cle in the parking lots. Prayers of thanksgiving should be said in your vehicle. Please be mindful and cognizant of others who might be waiting to come in to receive the Eucharist.

Grateful for having received Holy Communion, enjoy the rest of your day!!!

ALWAYS remember that you are BLESSED.

Boy Scout Troop 290 Yard Sale

Because of the uncertainty about what we can and cannot do due to the stay-at home 2.0 order, the Troop 290 yard sale is being postponed from June 20th to either August 22nd or August 29th. So, as we are staying home and you're cleaning out things, please begin to set aside items you would like to donate to the sale. ITEMS NEEDED: Tools, books, toys, clothing, kitchen, games, household, furniture, sports equipment and more! We will not accept exercise equipment, TVs, computer monitors, mattresses, car seats, dirty, broken items or incomplete items. Please ask before donating furniture as some items such as these are hard to store, sell or dispose of if necessary. The yard sale is an important fundraiser for the troop so please let your family and friends know about the sale. Confirmed date as well as date and time for drop off will be announced at a later date.
