Sermon Series: "Walking by Faith"—Our current message series is about trusting God when it matters most. Using Hebrews 11 as a guide, we’ll be looking at some of the big stories of the Bible and the life lessons we can learn about trusting God in uncertain times.

A Note from the Elders

Our elders and ministers met and carefully considered the best plan of action for the month of May. After seeking God’s wisdom in prayer, we have decided to continue our current online format for worship for now, until the end of May. There will be NO Wednesday dinners, NO Ladies’ Bible Class, and no in-person gatherings at Westside through the end of May. We thank you for your continued support and wish to let you know that we are looking forward to the day when we will be able to meet again face-to-face back at the building. In preparation for that day, we have been preparing the building to facilitate the safety of our body. Already in place are touchless faucets, and soap and towel dispensers in our main bathrooms. Hand sanitizer stations will also be available. Depending on up-coming information about the virus and those mandates required by our state government, we are also considering (but no final decisions yet) on some of the following items. We see these as temporary measures and when their usefulness is over, we would revert back to previous status: 1) More than one service – to facilitate group size 2) Social Distancing – reconfiguring seating in the worship center to accommodate 3) Use of facemasks – at least for the short-term and if called for by medical experts 4) Minimized touching of door handles – persons would open doors for you 5) Maybe Sunday services only – no classes initially, Sunday morning or Wednesday night service until later 6) No coffee Sunday mornings – until deemed safe 7) Sanitation Teams – to sterilize the facility before, between, and after services 8) Communion Service – served in a no-touch fashion by going to communion rather than having it served. This is not intended to be an exhaustive list, nor is it to suggest that every item above will be implemented. The over-riding consideration is what we can do as the Elders to protect your health and make you feel comfortable in returning sooner rather than later when the time comes. Also suggested but not stated is OUR desire to fellowship and commune with all of you. We miss you, and you have expressed to us, that you miss meeting together. We also realize some of our membership have underlying health considerations, and they may be best served by remaining at home and joining us by using the online services that will continue to be available. We will want them to feel comfortable in making the decision that best protects them from harm’s way until they feel it safe to begin meetings with us. Please be in prayer about these considerations and don’t hesitate to contact any one of us if you would like further clarification or if you have other ideas about how we can best protect our members. We love you! The Elders
