FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK
As we celebrate Memorial Day, it is a wonderful opportunity to remember the men and women who sacrificed so much so that we can be truly free. Enjoy the weekend, but don’t forget the meaning of what we commemorate on Monday. Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Hearts Cemetery at 9:00 a.m. Monday. There is no better way to begin the day. Please bring a lawn chair to use during the Mass. If the weather is inclement, Mass will be in church. It is always an honor to gather at our beautiful Sacred Hearts Cemetery to celebrate Mass. Graduation for our eighth grade students
from Sacred Hearts School will be Wednesday
evening. The graduation will be preceded by Mass
at 5:00 p.m. All are welcome.
As another school year comes to an end, we
thank God for the blessings received throughout
this year. Our gratitude to the administrators,
faculty, staff, parents, students, benefactors and all
who make possible the gift of Sacred Hearts School
in this community. God bless you for all you do.
Friday, June 1st, we will again have
Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament after the 8:30
a.m. Mass. You are welcome to spend time in
private prayer from then until 11:00 a.m. At that
point we will have a closing prayer and
Benediction.
Please plan to attend the Eucharistic
Procession after the 5:00 p.m. Mass Saturday, June
2nd. What a wonderful way to celebrate and honor
the gift of the Blessed Sacrament. Please see the
announcement in the bulletin for further
information.
God bless,
Msgr. Duane
Sacred Hearts extends a warm welcome to our newest parishioners:

We congratulate Patrick and Amanda (Sands) Molitor

Eucharistic Procession on June 2
The Solemnity of the Body and Blood of Christ, also known as Corpus Christi, is a day of praise and thanksgiving for the Eucharist. Though the institution of the Eucharist took place on Holy Thursday, it is also a time when we commem-orate our Lord’s suffering and death. The Solemnity of the Body and Blood of Christ is a day of joyful celebration of God’s great gift to us in the Blessed Sacrament. It is also a good day to give a public witness to our faith.
Sacred Hearts will have a Eucharistic Procession on Satur-day, June 2 after the 5 p.m. Mass. Weather permitting, at the end of Mass we will process outside the church to the front of the school, singing familiar hymns during the procession. (Song sheets will be provided.) We will pause by the school for a brief reading and prayer, then process back to the church for Benediction.
The Eucharistic Procession is a beautiful, ancient practice by which we publicly express our belief in, and our devotion to, our Lord’s presence in the Blessed Sacrament. We hope that many of our parishioners will participate in this special occasion.
Luke House Our next service night at Luke House is Tuesday, June 5. This is a great opportunity to donate, serve and share in a meal with those in our community who are in need. No experience is necessary, and new volunteers are always welcome! Please have
food donations to the Parish Center kitchen by noon on Tues-day, June 5. Serving volunteers, please arrive at Luke House by 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The clean up is usually complete by 7:30 p.m. The sign up sheet and further information is located on the bulletin board in the Narthex. Please be sure to include a phone number with your sign up information. If you have any questions, please contact Kitty Anderson at (608) 837-4929 or Peggy Afable at [email protected] or(608) 235-1529.
