A Very Special Opportunity and Experience “Biking for Vocations”

Save the Date: August 8, 2019

On Thursday morning, August 8th, Seminarians from Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary will begin a 5-day bike tour to spread awareness about vocations and spend time with the faithful of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.

They’ll start at the Seminary at 9 in the morning. Their first stop? Right here at Saint Maximilian Kolbe Parish!

We are delighted to be hosting these cycling Seminarians on the first stop of their tour. This is a very special opportunity to meet with young men discerning God’s call, to hear their stories, and to have some fun! Plans are underway to make their visit here memorable for them… and for us! Festivities will begin around 11am… stay tuned to this space for more details as the date draws near.

Who should attend? Everyone! Our young parishioners can hear first-hand about faith journeys. Our older parishioners can be inspired by how our younger generation is responding to God’s call. Any cycling enthusiasts in the Parish? Here’s your chance to swap tips and stories with our Seminarians. We’ll have food and games to get everyone involved. This is a great chance to interact in a fun and active setting.

So SAVE THE DATE: Thursday, August 8, 2019 – mid-day. Stay tuned…

Spring is here and St. Max School continues to be a busy place with service, trips, student initiatives and end of year recitals. Our students are reaching

into the community to enhance their learning.

- Our 8th Grade students recently partnered with the West Chester University Catholic student group “Focus”. They made templates for shoes out of old denim which will be sent to a factory for sewing, then the finished shoes will be shipped to Uganda. They W. C. U. students shared their stories and service work, which was very inspiring for our students.

- Our 2nd grade class hosted a Parishioners’ Breakfast. The students attended morning Mass and invited the parishioners to enjoy a lovely breakfast, conversation and entertainment.

- Sixth grade students took the initiative and created a “Lunch and Learn” recycling presentation to remind our student body of the importance of our cafeteria recycling methods.

- PreK and Kindergarten students got a beautiful day for their Bike-A-Thon to benefit St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Thank You Mrs. Jaskot for organizing this event.

- Language University held their PreK and K Spanish class graduation last Wednesday. - Fourth grade students toured Old City Philadelphia to experience this country’s early days. - Eighth grade students and parents spent the day in Washington D.C. They toured the Capital, Smithsonian

and many other interesting sites. - Band, Choir, Piano and Irish Dancing recitals are continuing to be presented throughout this month. These

students make their instructors proud. - 7th Grade has been running a plant sale to raise money for necessary equipment for our garden. The plants

have been raised from seeds in our science lab. Students are experiencing the business side of service.
