Developed by Claude King, Prayer Boot Camps are a flexible prayer
training experience to provide basic training in prayer. It is not just
learning about prayer. It is learning to pray by praying together. The
content is based on The Battle Plan for Prayer by Stephen and Alex
Kendrick, writers of War Room.
Mark Mirza, your facilitator, was at a pre-showing of the movie War Room, where he
remembers Claude King saying, “Men and women are going to leave this movie and
go to their pastors and they are going to say, ‘Teach us to pray like that” and the
question is, will they be able to?”
Mark Mirza will facilitate the Prayer Boot Camp. He
founded Common Thread Ministries in November, 2010
and teaches on prayer nearly every weekend. He is an
author of numerous books on prayer and recently
completed his first novel, The Pray-ers. He is
also on the State of Georgia Coordination
Team for the National Day of Prayer.
He and his wife, Naida, live in downtown
Atlanta, but they spend most of their free
time in Gainesville. Mark has been teaching
prayer for over a decade.
Join us for a viewing of War Room at FBC on June 4, at 6 PM.

Pastor Tom
We have spent time together in
worship on Sunday nights over the
last month focusing our time on the
power of a simple prayer. For us to
grow in our relationship with God, it
is very important for us to connect
with Him each day. As we acknowl-
edge how good of a Father our
awesome God is, we will begin to
praise Him. Our Wednesday night
time together in Psalm 136 affirms
this notion. When we tell God how
good He is and tell Him, "His faithful
love endures forever," then we will
break out in praise just like the
Psalmist did for the entire chapter.
As we realize that God answers our
prayers and uses the special time
with Him to help us adjust from our
way of thinking to His way, we come
to realize that He will do the same
for others. Intercession begins in our
life as we pray for others because
they need God in their life as much
as we do. When we commit daily for
God to change us to follow Him, we
ask Him to do that within our entire
church.
To assist and encourage our church
family, we have several additional
prayer emphasis opportunities
coming up. On June 4, we will be
showing the motion picture hit, War
Room in our sanctuary at 6 pm. The
following Saturday at Guido
Gardens, Mark Mirza will be leading
a one day Prayer Boot Camp from
9:30 am - 2 pm. Would you consider
being one of 50 members in our
church who would commit to daily
pray for our church as well as for me
and my family? As we cry out to God
each morning, may we, like the
Psalmist, wait in expectation of the
great and mighty acts that God is
already in the process of doing. If it is
your desire to see the unleashing of
God in our worship services each
week, would you consider being one
of the mighty Prayer warriors who will
be a part of our Pulpit Ministry? It is
my desire to have 2 people in our
prayer room praying for the mighty
moving of God each time we meet for
worship.
As we cry out to God as a church
family and experience a heart
connection with Him and each other,
I know the best is yet to come!

service on May 28.
