The Holy Shroud ndash Believed to be the Burial Cloth of the Crucified ChristThe Shroud is the most studied image in human history As scientific technology advances many people support its authenticity as the burial cloth of the crucified Christ

The 14 feet 3 inches by 37 feet linen burial cloth with 3-D image of a crucified man is housed in the Cathedral of St John the Baptist in Turin Italy It was brought there in 1578

The Holy Shroud is displayed for public veneration only on special occasions On Holy Saturday April 11 the Shroud was

displayed and through streaming was seen worldwide for veneration

Dr John Jackson a physicist has since mid-1970s intensively studied the Shroud With his team he established the Turin Shroud Center in Colorado Springs His findings proposed that a radiation process imposed this image on the burial cloth Paolo Di Lazzarro a noted authority experimentally substantiated the position of Jackson

Radio Family Rosary had the opportunity to interview Dr Jackson and his wife in 1996 at the National Catholic Physicians Meeting in Phoenix His wife Rebecca Jackson MBA is an Orthodox Jewish scholar and a convert to the Catholic faith Rebecca has contributed much to Shroud study

St John Paul IIrsquos last visit to the Shroud was in 1998 When asked in an interview about its authenticity he said ldquoI think it isrdquo
