Parish News
Χρηστός Ανέστη - Christ is Risen
It is the day of Resurrection! On Nations, let us be jubilant! For this Pascha is the Passover of the
Lord Christ Our God has passed us over from death to life and from earth to heaven; We who sing
to Him triumphant praise. (Ode 1 Tone 1)
We would like to thank Father Gregory Trakas who was with us during Holy Week and performed
all of the services. For those who were able to attend, we experienced the journey of our Lord
which was filled with faith, joy, love and sadness. The sadness was short lived as our savior rose
from the dead and then was resurrected.
In preparation for Easter there was a lot of work that needed to be done. Thank you to everyone
that participated in cleaning our church, decorated the icons and the church with flowers;
decorated the Epitaphion and for everyone that brought in the red eggs. We would also like to
thank our chanter and our choir for chanting so eloquently during the week. Last, but not least, a
huge thank you to our youth and their parents for helping through the entire week, especially our
altar boys and our beautiful myrrh bearers on Holy Friday.
Parish Council On May 10
th the Parish Council will be hosting the Mother’s Day Breakfast. Everyone is
welcomed to attend. Please join us as one big family as we honor our beautiful mothers.
The monthly Parish Council meeting will be held on Monday, May 18th at 7 PM.
8th Annual Spring Dance
Our Annual Spring Dance will be held on Sunday, May 24th at the Executive Court Banquet
Facility from 6:30 PM to 11:30 PM. Reserve your tickets by May 18th. Due to limited seating
capacity, we cannot guarantee that additional tickets will be available at the door. We would like
to invite everyone to join us for an evening filled with good fun, fellowship, and lots of dancing!
For more information, please contact Penny Papastathis at (603) 512-0996 or the church office.

Philoptochos News
The Ladies of the Philoptochos Society Soteria would like to thank everyone who assisted with our
many recent events, beginning with all the women who came forward ready to clean our beautiful
church on March 21st. Many thanks to you ladies for doing a magnificent job!
To all of those who made monetary donations toward the purchase of the new purple altar cloths,
we thank you for your generosity. Ms Susie Georgiadis was the seamstress who put the finishing
touches on the altar cloths and bookmark for the Bible. She gave her time and expertise to do this
for our Church and we appreciate her kindness.
The ladies’ hard work and dedication helped create delicious pastries and tsourekia for our annual
bake sale. If it weren't for these women who give their time and baking experience, we wouldn't
have the success we have enjoyed for many years. Anyone who would like to join this effort is more
than welcome to participate. The ladies wish to thank everyone who came forward to assist with
our bake sale.
We would like to thank Areti Galanis and Effie Kalampalikis for ordering the flowers and decorating
the church during Holy Week. The decorating of the Epitaphion included the efforts of many people
and their children, with guidance from Father Gregory. The Epitaphion looked beautiful! We thank
you all.
New Horizons Soup Kitchen
New Horizons Soup Kitchen is Sunday, May 24th, 4-6 PM. We are looking for new volunteers to
join our group. This is such a rewarding experience; please join us for less than two hours of
fellowship with the group from the Assumption Church. If you have any questions, please call the
church office at 623-2045. Thank you!
Choir Calling all parishioners! We are looking for volunteers to join our talented choir. All ages are
welcomed; all that is required is your passion and love for our church! Please contact our Choir
Director, Joan Virga at 603-553-9525 or the church office.

GREEKFEST 2015
CALLING ALL PARISHONERS!!!
Our 2015 GreekFest will be held on Saturday August 29th and Sunday August 30
th. Festival hours:
Saturday 11am to 10 pm; Sunday 11 am-7 pm.
Putting this event together is a massive undertaking requiring 100 volunteers each hour the festival is
open! This is our largest fundraiser of the year and we need your help! Many of you have worked for
years to make this event a success. But, we need more help and new blood to renew our energies.
Please don’t be shy! We welcome your assistance, ideas and time.
The following are specific needs we have at the moment. Please call if you can do something or know
a source for us to pursue. Right now we are in need of:
Donations of all kinds including: monetary, supplies, food, beverage supplies; your time and talents.
Donations of money and/or prizes for the Penny Sale Table.
Cooks to join the women of the Philoptochos on designated days to prepare specific Greek foods prior
to the Festival.
Anything else you can think of.
Sounds like a lot of work … and it certainly is, but the more help we have, the fewer hours each one
of us needs to work! This is a great way to meet new people! It is a lot of fun and a very gratifying
way to give back to the Church.
THANKS TO ALL OF YOU WHO ARE ALREADY
HARD AT WORK ON FESTIVAL ACTIVITIES!
If you have any questions or suggestions, please contact the church office at 603-623-2045.
If you like to participate, please fill out the following form and return it to the church office.
