I hope every mom had a wonderful Mother's Day. I certainly did! Rick and I went to Seven Springs Resort in Pennsylvania for the purpose of watching our two kids, Rodney (38) and Kelley (34), run in a Mud Run. If you aren't familiar with a Mud Run, it is similar to the obstacle course that all military per-

sonnel endure as part of their training exercises designed for your body to endure pain!

This was our son's 3rd time doing this and it was our daughter's 1st time. The night before the race, I laid awake most of the night worrying about their safety. No matter how old your kids are…you

never stop worrying.

It goes without saying, the morning of the race, I pulled Rodney aside and told him to watch over his

little sister. His response was…"of course I'll take care of her!" It made me feel better.

Three hours later, Rick and I were at the finish line in the pouring down rain watching Kelley and Rod-ney climb a 10 foot wall and run to the finish line. Kelley said it was the most awesome race she'd ever

done and looks forward to doing it again next year with her brother.

Kelley told me on two obstacles, her brother was her hero in helping her get over hurdles that she

couldn't quite get over on her own. He stuck with her and guided her on the difficult obstacles.

They were both skinned up, bruised, bleeding and sore. But they were proud of their accomplish-

ment…finishing the race.

The whole time I was listening to their stories of the horrific obstacles they endured, I couldn't help

but compare their experiences to those of us in the real estate industry.

We've been through some pretty tough obstacles in real estate in the last five years! But being in our EXIT Family has softened the hard blows that some of us endured. We helped one another get through it!! Perseverance and a helping hand has made our EXIT Family stronger and a better nurtur-

ing atmosphere to work in.

I'm proud of my two kids for making it to the finish line and I'm proud of my EXIT Family for being there when our Brokers and Agents just needed that little extra push to help them get over the hur-

dle of this challenging real estate industry.

And Now For A Little Laughter...

As the coals from our barbecue burned down, our hosts passed out marshmallows and long roasting forks.

Just then, two fire trucks roared by, sirens blaring, lights flashing. They stopped at a house right down the block.

All twelve of us raced out of the back yard and down the street, where we found the owners of the blazing house

standing by helplessly.

They turned and glared at us with looks of disgust.

We suddenly realized why…we were all still holding our roasting forks with marshmallows on them!
