Mary is the model of cooperation between God and man. Our Savior began His work of redemption at the instant of His conception in the womb of Mary. He accomplished the redemption of all mankind when he offered his sacrificial death on the cross. He reconciled a sinful humanity to the Father, yet Mary's unique role cannot be ignored here. She continues to cooperate in bringing us closer to her Son. Mary's motherly mediation in no way adds to or takes away from her Son's unique mediation as the Risen Lord in glory. Even though Mary is redeemed as we were, no other person in salvation history has been given the same role as she in making our redemption possible. She continues that motherly role by her ceaseless intercession in heaven and by meditating her Son's saving graces to the pilgrim Church on earth. Empowered by Christ we are mutually responsible for one another's salvation. Christ uses all His disciples as His ministers of grace. God bless, you, Fr. Mariusz Faith Formation: For registration in our Sunday morning children's program, registration forms are found at the church entrances, on our Facebook page, or the parish website hnojchurch.org This weekend at our Sunday 11:00 am Mass we honor the Sisters of Saints Cyril and Methodius . We welcome Sister Michael Ann, General Superior, and the Sisters who have traveled from the motherhouse in Danville PA to join Sister Gloria Marie and Sister Joseph Therese as our parish recognizes and thanks them for their many years of service to Holy Name of Jesus Church. In 1954, Fr. John J. Filip, Administrator of HNJ parish negotiated with the Sisters of Saints Cyril and Methodius to staff a proposed parochial school. Two years later, three Sisters of the Order arrived at HNJ to reside in the convent located then on College St. They conducted religious instructions and formed a children’s choir. A first grade class was held in the church basement until the school was completed and dedicated on September 8, 1957. Our parish has been blessed with vocations to both the priesthood and the religious, including Sister Gloria Marie Kascak. The Sisters’ presence over the years includes teaching at the parish school, our Faith Formation program, renewal committees, parish office assistance and spiritual outreach to many parishioners. We ask God to continue to bless their ministry. Fr. Mariusz Olbrys, Msgr. J. The Holy Spirit - Man by himself is nothing, but with the Holy Spirit he is very great. When good thoughts come into our minds, it is the Holy Spirit who is visiting us....The Holy Spirit is light and strength. He teaches us to distinguish between truth and falsehood, and between good and evil. We must find out by whom we are led. If it is not by the Holy Spirit, we labor in vain; there is no substance nor savor in anything we do. If it is by the Holy Spirit, we taste a delicious sweetness – those who are led by the Holy Spirit experience all sorts of happiness in themselves... We should say every morning, “O God, send me your Spirit to teach me what I am and what you are.” St. John Vianney
