We would like to thank all of you helped donate, set up, tear down and work the rummage sale to make it successful. Thanks to all those who baked and sold concessions. It was totally a group effort. Most of all we would like to thank our Lord and Savior for the blessing of being able to give back. We raised over $2,000 for the Herman James Meal Fund. - Debbie Fenton and the Yard Sale Team. Elissa Filozof was inducted into the Alpha Sigma Nu honor society. Diane Huffman is making good progress recovering from her recent knee replacement. Judy Prater is directing the choir for Pam while she is away in Israel. Praise God for our Awana program...for all the leaders, volunteers and the children.. This morning we will hear what they have been learning from the Bible over this past year. Blaine Hess has been elected president of the WV Association of School Administrators for 2019-2020. Awana - Today is Awana Celebration Sunday and there will be an Awana Luncheon after church. Menu will be Taco Bar with Éclair cake. Everyone is invited!

Camp Cowen Children’s Camps - Registrations need to be turned in to Rowena today with $40 for 3-day camps and $100 for week-long camps. Rowena plans to attend Younger-Midler and Jonathan will be attending Junior 1.

MOPS - The next meeting is May 21 at 9:00 a.m. Next year MOPS will be accepting enrollment for MOPS Next (Moms of school age children) and Moms who homeschool. See Rowena or Christa Raitz if you have questions.

Vacation Bible School - VBS will be “Athens-Paul’s Journey to Share the Truth” on June 23-27 from 6-8:00 p.m. Plan for your entire family to travel back to biblical times and experience ancient Greece. Contact Rowena now if you are interested in volunteering.

Children - There will not be children’s programming on Wednesday evenings during the summer. See you in the fall!

Summer Retreat - The Youth are going to Cincinnati from July 31-August 3 for Summer Retreat this year. This adult-chaperoned event includes visits to The Ark Encounter, COSI, and King’s Island. The cost is $250, of which we need a $50 deposit to hold a spot. This includes transportation, lodging, meals and all activity fees. If anyone needs financial assistance or more information, contact Pastor Jonathan.

Mother/Daughter/Sister/Friend Banquet - All Emmanual Baptist women are invited to a Mother/Daughter/Sister/Friend Banquet on May 20 at 6:00 p.m. The menu will be: Chicken Puffs, Roasted red skin potatoes, carrots, broccoli salad, and dessert. Special dietary options are available if requested at time of reservation. Cost: $5-adult, $3- child, max $13 per family. Sign up today!

Special Business Meeting - A special business meeting will be held tonight at 6:30 p.m. The purpose of this meeting is for the congregation to consider the purchase of an Allen electronic organ for the sanctuary. The cost is $42,600 and the Finance Team proposes to use money that is in a UNB Brokerage account, which has a balance of $43,500. This purchase is being considered because our current organ is in need of some very expensive repairs and maintenance. We will vote and the Capital Team will give an overview of capital projects.

Memorial Day Service of Remembering - On Monday, May 27 at 12 noon, Leavitt' s is sponsor ing a "Memorial Day Service of Remembering" at the First Baptist Church, 813 Market Street. The service will run from 12 noon to 12:45. Registration will begin at 11:30 am. For more information, call 304.422.6459.

Wednesday Night Dinner - The Wednesday night dinner this week is at 6:00 p.m. due to the Graduate Recognition Dinner. Everyone is encouraged to attend.

Doors on Sunday - We are only opening the parking lot doors, the sanctuary doors, and the Joan Street/choir doors on Sundays. This was approved by the Board of Ministry in an attempt to make the church more secure. If you are a church member with a key, please make sure you lock any unopened doors behind you.

Scholarship and Loan Applications - Scholarship and loan applications for the 2019-2020 school year are available in the Church Office. Applications must be received by May 31; awards will be announced in June.

Sunday School Class/Bible Study Offerings

- The Seekers are offering a study on the “Fruit of the Spirit” by Stuart Briscoe.

- The Crusaders Class will not meet during the summer.

- The Encouragers Class is studying the book of Job.

- The Harvesters Class is studying the Spring “Journeys” quarterly about Discipleship and Mission

- The LIFE Classis studying the Believe Series by Randy Frazee on the basic beliefs of the Christian faith at 9:40 in the parlor. The same study is offered again on Wednesdays at 6 p.m.

- The Counqueror's Class is studying the book of Ecclesiastes. Jonathan Delgado is teaching. This class is for all ages.
