Microsoft Teams – Recording your online lectures and how to share it
This guide is relevant for e.g. webinars, online courses etc.
1 TELL ALL PARTICIPANTS THAT THIS LECTURE IS GOING TO BE RECORDED, SO IF THEY DON’T WANT TO BE A PART OF THE RECORDING TURN OFF THEIR WEBCAM AND MUTE THEIR MICROPHONE!
2 Click the more ‘More actions’ button
3 Click ‘Start recording’
4 Let everyone know that this online lecture is beeing recorded then click ‘Dismiss’
5 If you click the ‘Show conversation’ icon – you can see that the recording has started in the meeting chat and you can now continue with your lecture.
6 To stop the recording click the ‘More actions’ icon again
7 Click ‘Stop recording’
8 Click ‘Stop recording’ ones again
9 Click on the ‘Show conversations’ icon again, in here you can see that the recording is now being saved and uploaded to Microsoft Stream (This can take some time, please do NOT close your Microsoft Team)
10 In the meeting chat, when the message for the recording has a thumbnail picture as marked – The recording has been uploaded to microsoft teams
11 Click ‘More options’
12 Click ‘Open in Microsoft Stream’
13 Your recording will now open in your default browser
14 Edit the settings so anyone within CBS can see the video – Click ‘More actions’
15 Click ‘Update video details’
16 Set a tick in ‘Allow everyone in your company to view this video’
17 Click ‘Apply’
18 Click ‘Share’
19 Click ‘Copy’
20 You can now share the recording link in Canvas on a page. Click ‘+’ in the module that you want the link to appear in.
21 Choose ‘Page’ and then choose ‘New page’.
22 Give the page a name and click ‘Add item’.
23 Remember to publish it so that it is visible for the students.
24 Click on the page and click ‘Edit’.
25Insert the link in the text field and click ‘Save’. (NB: You might need to hit the Space-bar after inserting your link in order to activate it – when it’s blue, it’s active)
26 The page with the link to the recording is now available for your students.
Congratulations! You have now recorded a lecture through Microsoft Teams!
