ASCENSION CATHOLIC CHURCH
WORLD DAY OF PRAYER FOR VOCATIONS This weekend, the Church throughout the world prays for vocations. Will you make a special effort to ask the Lord for more vocations to the priesthood and religious life?
• Pray for the priests who have ministered to you throughout your life, both living and dead.
• Keep Msgr. Jim in your prayers throughout the week.
• Encourage your children, grandchildren, or other young people to consider a vocation as a priest or religious brother or sister.
• Pray a rosary for more young men and women in our diocese to respond to God’s call.
Almighty and eternal God,
in your unfailing love you provide ministers for your Church.
We pray for those whom you call to serve the Church
as priests, deacons, and the religious life. Inspire in them a generous response.
Grant them courage and vision to serve your people.
May their lives and service call your people to respond to the presence
of your Spirit among us that, faithful to the Gospel and
hope of Jesus the Christ, we may: announce glad tidings to the poor
proclaim liberty to captives, set prisoners free
and renew the face of the earth.
GOD’S SHARE Each year during the Annual God’s Share Appeal, we pause and consider all the great things that are accomplished in the name of Jesus! Thanks to the generosity of many parishioners, to date we have pledges totaling $46,739.50, which represents 37.76% of our parish goal. We have received 186 gift envelopes, which represents 11.44% of our families participating. Each and every gift is important. If you have not made your gift yet, we ask that you make your commitment today in order to provide the resources needed to continue the vital diocesan programs and ministries that benefit every parish and every parishioner. No gift is too small and every gift is sincerely appreciated.
