A BLESSED MOTHER'S DAY Prayers and best wishes for all who are celebra ng Mother's Day this Sunday. While we will not be gathering as a parish in church today for Mass, we will cer-tainly be praying together during the Mass on social media for all mothers. God bless all the mothers on earth and in heaven!

WE WILL NEED VOLUNTEERS As we look forward to the day we can reopen our parish church for liturgies and prayer, we should begin now with invi ng new people who can volunteer at St. Raphael. We an cipate needing sev-eral teams of volunteers who will have important tasks in providing a safe environment. I should also point out that while we have many wonderful volunteers as ushers, lectors, etc., we will need addi onal younger volunteers. Experts have commented about groups that are vulnerable to the coronavirus (the elderly, people with an exis ng medical condi on, etc.) We definitely will need more people assis ng us who are not in the "vulnerable" groups. If you would like more infor-ma on about what will be needed or wish to volunteer please contact our parish email address: rectory@straphaelcatholic.org. If you are under 18 years of age and are interested in volunteering, please talk about this with your parent or guardian first. Thank you. A NEW PASTOR The process has begun for surfacing candidates for the pastorate of St. Raphael the Archangel. I have been in conversa on with several priests who have requested more informa on about the parish. The final decision about all pastor appointments is made by our Archbishop, Cardinal Cupich. If you wish to comment about the state of the parish or the quali es you think a new pas-tor should have, you can contact Mia Richmond in the Priest Placement Office: mrich-mond@archchicago.org. All comments are kept in confidence by the placement board. Please pray that the Holy Spirit send a good priest to be the third pastor of St. Raphael the Archangel Par-ish. A Blessed Easter Season! The Mysteries of the Rosary are very short accounts of the life, ministry, death and resurrec on of Our Lord Jesus Christ. The mysteries are The Joyful, The Luminous, The Sorrowful, and The Glorious. The Joyful Myster-ies: The first is The Annuncia on to the Blessed Virgin Mary, when Jesus was conceived by The Holy Spirit; the second is The Visita on when Mary went to visit her cousin Elizabeth who was about to give birth to John The Bap st, the precursor of Jesus; the third is The Na vity, the birth of Jesus. Although they lived in Nazareth, they had to leave for Bethlehem for a mandatory census. Therefore the prophesy was fulfilled that The Messi-ah would be born in Bethlehem; the fourth is The Presenta on, when Jesus was presented in the Temple, as it was the custom that the first born son was to be dedicated to God. This is when Simeon took the Child Jesus in his arms and gave thanks to God, saying 'Now, Lord, you have kept your promise, and you may let your servant go in peace. With my own eyes I have seen your salva on which you have prepared in the presence of all peo-ples....'; the fi h Joyful Mystery is The Finding of Our Lord Jesus, a er Mary and Joseph had searched for him for three days. They found Him in the temple, si ng with the teachers, listening to them and asking them ques ons. He said, '...Didn't you know that I had to be in my Father's house?' But they did not understand his answer at this me. We will consider the Luminous Mysteries next me.
