ATTENTION PARENTS & STUDENTS – Some Reminders The staff of William D. Pratt School is happy to provide supervision for your child/ren 15

minutes before school and 15 minutes after school. We ask that unless your child/ren is

in a before or afterschool club or sports team, to ensure that students are not dropped

off before 7:45 am and are picked up by 2:45 pm. Thank you for your consideration.

Please do not enter the staff parking lot at any time. All drop offs and pick-ups of

students/homework/lunches etc. should be done at street level only. Watch for the bus

routes!

The front/main door of our school is locked after 8:30. Please ring the marked buzzer.

It rings in the office and only then can we buzz you in. NOTE: Please do not press the

button marked “DO NOT PRESS”.

Pink Bake Sale in support of Pink Shirt Day! The GSA and Youth Champions are hosting a pink bake sale to happen on Wednesday,

February 28 at noon - Pink Shirt Day. We are looking for donations of pink baked

goods. If you are able to help, please email Ms. Parker at smparker@cbe.ab.ca

with information about what you can provide and the amount. We ask that baked items

come with an ingredient list so we can make sure students with allergies don't

accidentally ingest the wrong thing. All items can be dropped off at the school Tuesday,

February 27 - Wednesday, February 28 at the main office.

Pink Shirts are still available! Please see the order form and information at the end of the

Messenger.

Pink Shirt Day at Pratt (February 28rd) Dear Parents / Guardians: Pink Shirt Day is also known as Anti-Bullying Day. It was started by two students from Nova Scotia who, in 2007, bought and distributed 50 pink shirts after a male ninth grade student was bullied for wearing a pink shirt on the first day of school. Pink shirts now serve to stand as a symbol against bullying on this day. William D. Pratt Students have the opportunity to purchase custom made T-Shirts for Pink Shirt Day. The price will be $20. The shirts will be 100% cotton Gildan crew neck T-shirts. For the pink shirts, we have ordered in bulk, meaning it will be first come, first serve for sizes. The shirts will be in pink in colour and have the William D. Pratt logo on the front in blue, white, pink and black.

to the office. Orders will be time stamped to avoid confusion as they are first come, first

serve. The T-shirts will be delivered upon their arrival at the school. Unfortunately, the exact delivery date is not known at this time, but will arrive before Pink Shirt Day.
