Introduction

Applications in the prescribed format are invited from eligible Indian citizens FOR

ADMISSION TO POST GRADUATE COURSES IN ENGINEERING & TECHNOLOGY AND

PHARMACY IN MAKAUT, WB (IN HOUSE) AND COLLEGES AFFILIATED TO MAKAUT,

WB (PGET-2019). Admission will be through an entrance test (PGET-2019) in relevant

subjects for all candidates including the GATE/GPAT qualified candidates. Due

weightage will be given to valid GATE/GPAT score while preparing the merit list. The

admission test will be followed by counselling, the schedule and venue for which will be

advertised on the website along with the merit list in due course of time.

The PGET Board as constituted by the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of

Technology, West Bengal, is the sole authority to conduct the examination and declare

the results. As decided by the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, West

Bengal, admission to Post Graduate courses in Engineering/ Technology/ Pharmacy in

such institutions will be as per merit list prepared through PGET followed by

counselling.

The information in this brochure is mainly categorized into Pre-examination

Note to the Candidates: Before starting the application process, you must:

1. Ensure that you meet the eligibility criteria (given below) for the interested course

of PGET 2019. 2. Choose the City of choice to appear for the examination: There would be two

choices, in the order of preference. The candidate can choose a particular city as the

first choice for appearing PGET 2019 examination. The candidate can choose his/her

second choice only from the available cities. The preference choices will be allotted

if the candidate could not be accommodated in first choice city. However, the PGET

Committee reserves the right to add a new city or remove an existing city and allot a

city that may not be any of the choices of a candidate. 3. The categories of candidates eligible to appear for PGET 2019 are given below.

Please study the following table carefully and ensure the eligibility criteria before

choosing a course.

Enrolment: Candidates must first enrol themself, by providing a valid email address,

mobile number and a PGET password. All communications to you from the PGET Offices

will be sent to this address. Also, information may be communicated via SMS on mobile

number provided during enrolment.

PGET Enrolment ID: Upon enrolment, an email and SMS containing your

PGET Enrolment ID and Password will be sent to you. You need to keep this

for all PGET 2019 related future communications/website operations.

Data Requirement for Application Filling: Before you login to PGET using

Enrolment ID and Password, keep the following information ready

1. Personal information (name, date of birth, your personal mobile number,

parent’s name, parent’s mobile number etc.)

2. Address for Communication (including PIN code)

5. Details of a valid ID Proof that you will carry to the examination hall.

The duly filled application form and submitted on-line, is to be down-loaded and

printed and kept for future reference.

Candidates need to produce the application along with 1 copy of Self-attested mark sheets /certificates / testimonials, etc. starting from class X (10th standard) onward up to the qualifying examination. A certified table for conversion of total credits to percentage of marks has to be submitted by candidates qualifying from Universities other than MAKAUT, WB. Final year students must submit the mark sheets / grade cards of last / latest semester examinations.

Candidates should submit the copy of self-attested photo-copies of certificates / documents from appropriate authorities in proof of reservation eligibility of the candidate in the categories approved by the State of West Bengal as per the reservation norms to be submitted on demand.

No application will be accepted unless it is registered on-line before the closing date notified on the website.

All candidates must appear for the entrance test.

Applicant can select three choices, in the order of preference. The candidate can choose

a particular city as the first choice for appearing PGET 2019 examination. The candidate

Examination Related Information

Eligibility

An Indian citizen with a relevant AICTE approved Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Technology/Pharmacy/Architecture or appearing in the final year examination of such programmes or equivalent. Equivalence means the candidate should be an Associate Member of a Professional of Engineers that are recognized by the Govt. of India for the purpose of admission to higher studies in Engineering. M.Sc. or final year M.Sc. Candidates in appropriate branches are also eligible. However, degrees acquired through any distance education programme are not eligible. * Candidates in final year will be granted provisional admission and will have to submit their final mark -sheet before a prescribed deadline or as may be fixed by the PGET Board to be notified later on University Website. * Reservation for SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B/PWD will be as per the state government rules. *Decision of the PGET-2019 Committee will be final in case of any dispute regarding the

whole admission process

Mode of Examination

The Post Graduate Entrance Test (PGET) will consist of a single paper in the computer based test (CBT). It will be of 90 minutes duration. Each paper will have a total of 50 marks with 50 MCQs of 1 mark each. All candidates must appear in the entrance test. The proportional representation of marks for preparation of merit list will be as follows:

For GATE/GPAT qualified candidates 50% of the GATE/GPAT score will be added.

Previous academic results (Class 10th and 12th Marks) will be considered for breaking

ties.

The number of seats is subject to change as per the extension of approval of the existing courses, increase in the number of intake in the existing courses and approval of new courses granted by AICTE for session 2019-20. Sponsored seats are available at Kalyani Government Engineering College and Bankura

Unnayani Institute of Engineering.

Duration and Examination Type

The written test for Post Graduate Entrance Test (PGET-2019) will be conducted online on subject wise multiple choice questions of 90 minutes durations. All candidates must appear in the entrance test of relevant subject.

Post Examination Information

PGET Results

PGET 2019 results will be tentatively announced on 30/**/2019 at 17:00 hrs and will be

available on the PGET Online Application Website. From Candidate login after the

declaration of the results, PGET Score Cards can be downloaded from the website.

Selected candidates will be called for GD/PI, followed by counselling.

Admission Counselling The date and Venue for the admission counselling will be announced on PGET website after declaration of the results. Candidates are advised to follow the website for important notifications.
