ITHACA COLLEGE, b.a. architectural studies, music minor, art minor; MISTICK CONSTRUCTION, expeditor; HISTORIC ITHACA, intern;
ITHACA COLLEGE VRC, student assistant; SHADY SIDE ACADEMY, high school;
During my four years at Ithaca College, I continually honed my graph-ical, artistic and perception skills. This portolio, however, is desinged to me be more than a summation of creative experiences. Its purpose is to demonstrate that my instensive study extends beyond the studio and that I am always willing to apply my skills in multiple directions.
The following projects and pieces are not grouped chronologically or cat-egorically. Rather, they fall along three themes, which emerged as my
undergraduate term came to a close.

Savoye ObservatoryARCH Studio II
Ground Relationship
We were each assigned a famous modernist house, which we were to study. We were then to produce an observatory for the site.
My observatory creates new views of Villa Savoye, while exaggerating LeCorbusier’s concept of lifting the builing into the air. The observa-tory stands in stark contrast to the original structure, signalling the ever encroaching world and negating Savoye’s sense as a universal structure.

ARCH Studio I
Our class was instructed to document a pattern in nature, from which we would develop our own geometric pattern. This was then to serve as the basis for some kind of inhabitable structure.

Portable Shelter
This privacy shelter, was originally conceived after witnessing a num-ber of undiscrete clothing changes
at the beach.
The project eventually transformed into a sculptural, meditative space.

The Classics
A good deal of my time at Ithaca was spent studying clasical art forms and the geometric relationships so valued by the Classic artists.

Utility Shed
I spent the second semester of my senior year re-searching classical style architecture that was endem-ic to the Ithaca area. From my studies, I developed a historically-concious utility shed, which is current-ly being built and auctioned off by historic Ithaca.
