Spelling Bee and Maths Blast 2014

Spelling BeeTensions were running high at the final of

our annual Spelling Bee competition... Mrs Collins worked hard to calm

everyones nerves and had to advance to the ‘tricky’ words sheet quickly as the quality of the competitors was fantastic!

A VERY WELL DONE to all the fantastic Spelling Bee Finalists!

Each year group went head to head with the class winners and a final round saw Alishba Amber in 4TM beat both Year 5 AND Year 6 competitors to become the overall champion! WOW!

Champions: Alishba Amber 4TM, Hawwa Yousaf 5RM and Kaomal Arshad 6I. Runners up: Taymur Mohammad 4S, Ibrahim Ali 4MB, Iqra Ishfaq 5G, Aleesha Iman 5W, Mohammed Azaan Sharif 6MW and Sabah Iqbal 6C

Maths BlastLast years competition had set the bar VERY high and all finalists were feeling the pressure. With the help of Mrs Ratcliff, Mrs Johnson kicked off the final with some tough questions and the competitors got the chance to show off their excellent maths skills!

A very well done to all the students who conquered

their classmates and made it to the Maths Blast Final today.

As per usual, it was a tough contest and Mrs Johnson

was in awe at the speed of the finalists! Thank you to

everyone who worked hard and to parents for supporting

the Maths Blast. An extra special well done to our winners and runners up!
