His Career

• Born in Walthamstow, East London in 1960

• In 1971 at 11 Years old he formed his first production company ‘The Bournadian Theatre Group’

• In his early twenties he enrolled on the BA Dance Theare degree at Laban Center, studying in Ballet and Comtemporay Dance

• After Graduation in 1885 Bourne joinged Transitions Dance Company where he went on tour with them between 1985-1986

• During 1987- 2002 he Became the Artistic Director of his First Dance/ Theatre company- Adventures in Motion Pictures.

• WORKS CRATED FOR AMP: Overlap lovers, Car Man, Cinderella and two of the most well known, Nutcracker! And Swan Lake.

• He is the creator of the world’s longest running ballet production• In 2002 Mathew created his latest company alongside Robert Noble- New

Adventures.• New Adventures became well known for there productions- PLAY WITHOUT WORDS- which wont the Best Entertainment at the years’s Oliver Awards

New ADVENTURESNew adventures- Based at ‘Sadlers Wells Theatre- London’ is the UK’s most in established Contemporary Theatre touring company.

The company has changed the traditional classical ballet Repertory into more 21st century modern versions.

The company employs around 70 dancers annually and tours throughout the Uk and Internationally.

New Adventures has toured to some of the world largest stages such as:

Sydney Opera House,

New York City Center,

The Chatalet in Paris

Mathew Bourne’s Ballet Swan Lake became the 1st ballet to be screened on BBC1
