IntroductionProper nutrition is necessary to have a happy, healthy life;

however, millions of people around the world suffer from malnutrition. High malnutrition levels lead to development issues and an increase in poverty in regions like the Philippines.

According to Bacolod City Health Office, due to the lack of nourishing food sources and nutrition education, hunger and malnutrition are still dominant in the Philippines. In fact, these problems have been linked with high rates of poverty and an ever growing population.

Protein deficiency is one of the leading malnutrition problems in Bacolod City. Over thousands of children suffer from protein deficiency, which causes these children to be severely underweight and suffer from stunted growth.

Individual Reflection“Malnourished has been one of the major health problems in each places for years. I observed in the data we'd collected that many children in our city that are malnourished. I learned that each one of us need to be thankful and be contented of what food serve in our dining. Because many children in everywhere that cannot eat foods. Even people who have plenty to eat may be malnourished if they don't eat food that provides the right nutrients & vitamins.” – Justin Tavera

Individual Reflection“According to the result of our collected data, I have realized that every year there are many malnourished children in Bacolod city. But it's good to know that since 2010 until 2014 the number of malnourished children is decreasing. So it means our government is also taking an action with that problem. As a result, only few children are already malnourished. And we must always remember that having good health is the most important thing that each one of us should have. So we must stay fit & eat nutritious food always to avoid diff. Kinds of diseases. ” - Crissa Ramos

Individual Reflection“ I’ve learned in this research every year Bacolod City have many malnourished children. Governments should make ideas to lessen this kind of problems in our city. Many solution governments can do like feeding or giving healthy food to malnourished children. We should have solution to this problem so that it lessen this kind of case in our city.” – Je –ann Javier

Individual Reflection“Nutrition is very important to every person and it’s not good that there are children who are experiencing hunger in the city of Bacolod and no one is doing something to help it. And it’s good to hear that the government had done something about this case that helped lessen the malnourished children. There maybe a lot of malnourished children in Bacolod City but, it’s good to know that the number of malnourished children from year 2010- 2014 is decreasing. – Khrystine Orcena
